Thou shalt not make unto the any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the lord thy god is a jealous god, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; and showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. Thou shalt not take the name of the lord thy god in vain: for the lord will not hold them guiltless that taketh his name in vain. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work. But the seventh day is the Sabbath to the lord thy god; in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, not thy maidservant, not thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: for in six days the lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the lord blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it. 2 Praises To God and prayers Psalm 28:7 The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him. Richard Rupp: He had a stroke, and has entered into rest. Please pray for his family. You may view his obituary at: richard-rupp Magnolia Jade Forrester: Born during the feast of Tabernacles. Had surgery on her tongue to help her nurse. She is doing well now. **************************************** Prayers and updates These requests for prayers have been made recently for these people. Give god thanks for hearing our prayers. Isabella Devin: She had open heart surgery on October 4 th, to fix holes in her heart. She is recovering well, but has developed some water around her heart. Prayer for all of God s people who have been affected by the disasters happening around the world. John Monahan s stepdad & mom: He has dementia and compressed discs in his back. She has cancer. David Braun: Had a pacemaker put in. John Snape: Several health issues. Bob Chaney: Having chest pains. Miriam Ammel: she has breast cancer and is going through treatment. She is requesting funds to help pay for all of the tests and procedures. You can donate at: Virginia Harmon: She has a stage 3 cancer called Adenocarcinoma (non-small cell lung cancer). treatments for the next couple of months. Brenda Hartnett: She is fighting many health issues. She also fell recently. Continued prayers and updates Rodney Curran: They are making cutbacks where he works. He also needs guidance in his decision making. Verna Walker: She has been diagnosed with Lupus. It is affecting her breathing. Carol Rupp: She is having back pain and also suffers from knee pain. Connie Griffith Marlene Brown: Having back troubles. John Booth: Still having some swelling in his ankles, along with soreness. Don Unnewehr: He was told that he has Stage 4 colon cancer. Update: He has been moved to a nursing home for rehab, and the family has called in hospice to continue his care. Faith Ammel: She is very ill. Rachel Bollig: She is still fighting severe breathing problems and is now in a nursing home getting treatment. Kurtis McCullough: They did a more aggressive surgery to try to get it all the other day. He is now able to walk some and is talking. Larry Deese: He has been battling cancer for several years and has really gone down in the last few months. He is fighting double pneumonia and the prognosis is not encouraging. Minnie Lindsay: pray that God will comfort her, strengthen her as she has health problems. Phil Kline---brother of Henry Polks friend---had an eye operation that went bad, in order to correct this he has to have an operation in his other eye. If they don't do this he has a chance of going blind. It is so important that we receive updates on any prayer requests. If we have not received an update within 30days of posting the prayer request, we will remove them from the list believing that their prayers have been answered. Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 2

Working together to spread the gospel of Jesus, the Christ Post Feast Depression Is it real? Can a person really feel down after coming home from the feast? I believe so. I used to feel down for a week or two after returning home from the feast of tabernacles. When we attended the feast, hopefully, we put aside our thoughts of home, and work, and left our worries behind, so that we could come before God to worship, and celebrate His feast. We get excited about seeing our brethren, that we haven t seen for awhile, and look forward to fellowshipping together for eight whole days. For those days, we ride high on the Spirit of God, at the feast. Well, at least I hope that everyone gets as excited as I do, when I come before God to lift Him up in praise and worship. (Continued on Page 4.) PROOF OF THE BIBLE By Wendell Yeary From time to time people ask, How do we know the Bible is true? Well, that s a good question that I ll try to answer. Let s turn to Job 26:7,8. He stretches out the north over the void, and hangs the earth on nothing. He binds up the waters in his thick clouds, and the cloud is not split open under them. In these two verses, we find the Bible telling what science, only in the last few hundred years, have found out. No one for thousands of years believed the earth hung on nothing, while, in fact, it is being held up by God. Let s turn to Isaiah 40:22 It is he who sits above the circle of the earth, (Continued on Page 4.) 3

4 (Proof of the Bible, Continued from Page 3.) and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers; who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, and spreads them like a tent to dwell in; Here the Bible again shows many hundreds of years passed before man knew how the atmosphere covered the earth, and enveloped it; and that the earth was round, not flat. Now in Ecclesiastes 1:6-7 we read: "The wind blows to the south and goes around to the north, around and around goes the wind, and on its circuits the wind returns. All streams run to the sea, but the sea is not full; to the place where the stream flow, there they flow again. Here we see science again being proved by the Bible. For many years mankind didn t know that there really was no new water, that it s recycled, and the wind also. But, God knew of course, for He had created everything, and the systems that run this beautiful universe. In much of the world today, disease is caused by the fact that mankind doesn t practice cleanliness. In Deuteronomy 23:13 God gave these instructions: And you shall have a trowel with your tools, and when you sit down outside, you shall dig a hole with it and turn back and cover up your excrement. And in Numbers 19:11 God says, Whoever touches the dead body of any person shall be unclean for 7 days God allows 7 days, to give any disease time to develop. He also teaches that we should wash with water after touching a dead body. If only mankind could learn God s way. In Genesis You shall be circumcised in the flesh of your foreskin, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and you. He who is eight days old among you shall be circumcised. Doctors now know what God told mankind 3500 years ago, that eight days after birth is the best time to perform circumcision. Leviticus 12:3 also repeats God s word on the subject. Much of the sickness that mankind experiences are the result of our own actions. Let s read Proverbs 14:30 A tranquil heart gives life to the flesh, but envy makes the bones rot. We now know that stress is bad for us, and can cause much sickness. The Bible told us these truths over two thousand years ago. Another verse on the subject is Proverbs 17:22: A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. These are just some of the verses in God s Word that prove that mankind didn t write it, but that the Bible is the Word of God to mankind. You can trust the Bible. END (Post Feast Depression, Continued from Page 3.) The depression seems to come after we return home, and return back to the life we live, each and every day. Yes, the celebration is over, and now we return back to our jobs, whether it s working in the home or outside of it. That always seemed to be when the depression hit me. I love God s feasts, and I would get sad when they were over, especially after tabernacles. I couldn t wait until the next year rolled around, and we could take off for another eight days. After a few years of this depression, I finally realized that I was looking too far ahead, and this was why I was down. I was looking towards the next feast of tabernacles, and even the next Holy day, forgetting that God had given us a Holy feast for every week of the year. He gave us the weekly Sabbath day, so that we didn t have to wait so long between the Spring and Fall Holy days. It is the first of God s feast listed in Leviticus 23:1-3 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts. Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings. Yes, He gave us a weekly feast, so that we could come together. He gave us one day each week, so we could worship Him, celebrate the day, and be refreshed, while being with other of our brethren. We don t have to be depressed, when we have one day a week to feast before the Lord. Everyone needs to take advantage of what God is offering. So many stay home for the weekly Sabbath, and they miss out on the fellowship, and the refreshment of His Sabbath. If we are able, we should attend a service somewhere. If you re not able, you should try to call in to a service, if there is one available. Sermon DVD s or CD s should never be used to replace attending a service somewhere. So many brethren miss out on the blessings of fellowship with others. Make every effort to obey God, and keep His Sabbath, His weekly feast. END 4

Box 0476 Cagayan de oro city 9000 Philippines In his letter, dated September 12th, Pastor Nestor said, Love and joy to all of you, in the name of Jesus, the Christ. Hope you are all fine and doing good, and blessed richly by our Heavenly Father. Right now, we need more bibles for the students and newcomers. Everything here are doing fine, and the Lord continues to bless the gospel and mission work here. Many souls were added, and the Lord works miracles. My son Nestor, Jr., was healed of his brain tumor by prayer and through the anointed cloth. Hallelujah!! To God be the Glory. Our bible schools in Cebu City, and Cagayan de Oro City, are doing good. They help in all our church activities and mission outreach, and soul winning program. The students stay active and faithful. He said that they went back to Cebu City on September 8th for another bible session, and to help the church brethren there with their activities, and mission work. We will be looking forward to getting some photos from the different feast sites in the Philippines, to share in upcoming issues of the newsletter. The churches in the Philippines are growing fast, which means that their needs continue to grow. Pastor Nestor, his family, and all of the ministers there, wish to thank everyone for their prayers and support of the work they are doing there. Box 667 Suna-migori Kenya, east Africa Photos from the Feast of Tabernacles Pastor Martin reported that between the 3 feast sites, over 3000 people attended. The photos above are from the feast site in Kericho. As you can see from the photos, the people had to sit under tents or out in the open to listen to the ministers who taught them. Martin said that everyone at the sites got spiritual and physically fed, and that they were blessed with a wonderful feast. They all want to thank everyone for their offerings and prayers, which helped the brethren in Kenya to have a good Feast of Tabernacles. Several baptisms took place and more people were added to the church of God. You will find more pictures from the Kenya feast on the next page. 8

9 Feast of Tabernacles Mombasa feast site Thousands come to the feast in Mombasa Nigeria Church of God News Pastor Solomon reports that the work is going very well for the brethren in Nigeria, but they are still in need of at least 100 bibles, in the Efik language. He also reported that Mr. Ime Matthew died, and wanted prayers for the family during this loss. He said that they are praying for all of us too. We are always glad to hear from the churches in our outreach ministry, and we are working hard to supply their spiritual needs. We are very glad to have Pastor Solomon, his family, and the brethren that are in their church, working with us to spread the gospel there. As always, the need are always great in many of the churches we support, and we try to put the offerings that we receive to the best use possible. We are presently attempting to get as many bibles as we can afford, in the Efik language, so that we can get them to Pastor Solomon. We have hit a few roadblocks, but we continue to trust God to help us get past them. Please pray that He will open the door, so that we can supply the needs of the churches.
