Thou shalt not make unto the any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the lord thy god is a jealous god, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; and showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. Thou shalt not take the name of the lord thy god in vain: for the lord will not hold them guiltless that taketh his name in vain. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work. But the seventh day is the Sabbath to the lord thy god; in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, not thy maidservant, not thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: for in six days the lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the lord blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it. 2 Praises To God and prayers Psalm 28:7 The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him. Kurtis McCullough: Kurt will have his last surgery on February 14, 2018, and the doctor will get everything he can of the remaining tumor. Kurt is still improving very well. Ben Eison: His mother entered into rest. Isabella Devin: She had open heart surgery, and just got a clean bill of health from her doctors. Gene Chrisman: his toe is doing well. May Orr: Her heart has been beating normal again **************************************** Prayers and updates These requests for prayers have been made recently for these people. Give god thanks for hearing our prayers. Jack Downard: He needs God s protection around him. Allie Packard: Having sinus problems since May She will have surgery February 15, 2018 at 7:30 am. Find more information on the church website. Eddie Booth: fighting illness. Abraham Yeary: fighting cold or flu. Jeremiah Cross: His meds for his seizures are causing problems with his teeth and gums. Wynne Skelton: Fell about 13 ft. from his tree stand. He is healing well. Due to space, his most recent update is posted on our website. Prayer for all of God s people who have been affected by the disasters happening around the world. John Monahan s stepdad & mom: He has dementia and compressed discs in his back. She has cancer. John Snape: Several health issues. Deanna White: having medical issues. Carolyn Unnewehr: Having problems with her balance. Judy McCallum: Health issues. Continued prayers and updates Connie Griffith: She is finished with her radiation treatment. Needs prayers for continued healing. Miriam Ammel: She is at home recovering from a mastectomy surgery. After testing the tumors, they showed no cancer. She is will begin PT, and will receive radiation in about a month. You can support her at: Virginia Harmon: She has a stage 3 cancer called Adenocarcinoma (non-small cell lung cancer). treatments for the next couple of months. Brenda Hartnett: She is fighting many health issues. She also fell recently. Rodney Curran: They are making cutbacks where he works. He also needs guidance in his decision making. Verna Walker: She has been diagnosed with Lupus, and fights constant breathing problems. Carol Rupp: She is having back pain and suffers from knee pain. Connie Griffith Marlene Brown: She has been very sick and dehydrated. John Booth: Still having health issues with his feet, and other problems. Faith Ammel: She is very ill. Rachel Bollig: She is still fighting severe breathing problems and is now in a nursing home getting treatment. Larry Deese: He has been battling cancer for several years and has really gone down in the last few months. He is fighting double pneumonia and the prognosis is not encouraging. Minnie Lindsay: pray that God will comfort her, strengthen her as she has health problems. Hayden McLary: health problems. Kathy Walters: She has cancer. George Curry: Breathing problems. It is so important that we receive updates on any prayer requests. If we have not received an update within 30days of posting the prayer request, we will remove them from the list believing that their prayers have been answered. Working together to spread the gospel of Jesus, the Christ Images Fade, But Jesus is Forever By Stephanie (Hicks) Downard The other day I was sent an image. It was of a man sitting next to a bloodied, and beaten man, who was portraying Jesus. The caption read, "That moment when you try to explain to Jesus how hard your life has been today." I instantly felt like my problems didn't seem so bad, and I felt guilty for complaining so much. The image had moved me, and I wanted to change my ways. But, what happens after a few hours, days, weeks, months, even years pass by. Will that image mean anything to me or will I have forgotten, and fall back into old habits again? We have so many reminders of God's love, and Jesus' sacrifice. We put (Continued on Page 4.) 3

4 (Images Fade, Continued from Page 3.) pictures on our walls with our favorite verses, but over time we pass it by, forgetting it's there, and it soon becomes just another decoration. Our favorite ring, inscribed with scripture, becomes just another piece of jewelry. The meaning behind why we bought these items in the first place, fades away, and they become just another object. I'm not saying these things are wrong to have, but if you want to see change in yourself you must look elsewhere. God is eternal, Jesus is forever, and the bible remains constant. As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father s commandments and abide in His love. John 15:9-10. God's love is the key to true happiness and fulfillment. Fill yourself with God's word, keep the commandments, and don't let Jesus' sacrifice be in vain. Then the next time you get that or see a verse on the wall, it will strengthen your spirit instead of fading into the background as another forgotten memory. Box 0476 Cagayan de oro city 9000 Philippines We recently received tow letters sent by Pastor Nestor, the last dated December 19th, In the first letter, he wrote that they had just returned from a church trip to Cebu City, and said that it was very successful, and inspiring trip. He said that home bible studies, and house to house visits, were an effective way to spread the gospel. During the visits, more people were added to the church brethren. He said that they would be opening a new church in Camotes Island, Cebu, very soon. In his second letter, dated December 19th, 2017, he wrote this, Here in the Philippines, people are also busy preparing for their celebration of what they call Christmas. For us here, the church of God, in the Philippines, never joins them, or do the things that pagan people did. Since I and my family were converted to the Lord, we never do the same. We believe and trust the Lord, and His words. His word is truth John 17:17. The law is truth Psalm Hallelujah! To God be the glory. He also wrote that they would have a church fellowship at the Hilltop Carmen church. This church is growing strong greatly, and strong in the Lord. Many miracles have happened in this church. The Lord saved souls, and healed the sick, even those rejected by the doctors. He thanks everyone for their prayers, and support, so that they can continue the work of spreading the wonderful gospel of Jesus, the Christ, there in the Philippines. They were going to be heading back to Cebu City again in January. Below are some photos of Praise & Worship service held in Catipla, Cebu City. IMPORTANT NEWS! A huge tropical storm, called Vinta, hit Mindanao a day or so after his last letter was sent. As of the writing of this information, we still haven t heard from Pastor Nestor. Please pray that they are well, and that he will contact us very soon. 7

Box 667 Suna-migori Kenya, east Africa Pastor Martin has been very busy, hosting visitors in his home, and at the church building in Migori. He has also done a lot of travelling to visit other villages, and towns around Kenya, to answer requests to learn more about the teachings of Christ. He provides a meal for every guest that comes to visit him, and this leaves his family short on food or even without at times. After talking to him a few days ago, I was able to send him enough funds to buy food for his family, and the orphans, but we still lack the funds to help with the rent on some of the meeting places that we have been assisting with each month. Due to the eastern part of Kenya being a poor region, they struggle each month to raise the funds needed to buy food, pay rent, and supply the needs of the brethren. Many of the church brethren here help to support our overseas churches, and Pastor Martin, and the other ministers and brethren appreciate it, and send their thanks for your support. We send funds to Pastor Martin to print the newsletters there in Kenya, and then deliver them to the local churches. It saves us the cost of postage.
