4 YAHRZEIT PLAQUES: Remember your departed loved ones throughout the year by putting their name on a Yahrzeit plaque. The plaques are located on the wall at the rear of the Temple sanctuary. Every Memorial Plaque bears the name and Yahrzeit date of the loved one. The Memorial Light adjoining the plaque is illuminated on every Yahrzeit and Yizkor service of the year. Those individuals who have a memorial plaque in their honor are also listed in the Yahrzeit section of our newsletter with an asterisk next to their name. If you are interested in purchasing a Memorial Plaque, please contact the Temple office by phone at or us at tbshalom@gmail.com. The cost is $250 per plaque. We continue to strive to maintain accurate records of your loved ones passing so that we may honor them appropriately. Sisterhood Book Group meets Wednesday, March 14, 7:00 9:00 p.m. at the home of Andi Russell. The book for discussion is The Little Paris Bookshop by Nina George. 6 TBS sent a get well note to Ed Baumgardner on his recent hospitalization. TBS sent a get well note to Neal Rudnick, who had an emergency surgery in February. There are no donations to report this month. Announcements Jenn Ross of the Jewish Federation of Greater Harrisburg has forwarded this information and asks that the community please keep Morton Spector in your thoughts and prayers for refuah shlema. While on vacation in Florida, Morton Spector was admitted to the ICU and is being treated for complications of high blood pressure. He anticipates a protracted recovery. 7 Community News Tickets are Now Available for Life, Animated: Film Screening and Lecture Presented by Jewish Family Services Like TBS on Facebook! Author Ron Suskind will discuss his book Life, Animated, about raising a child on the autism spectrum. The program will include a screening of the film adaptation of the book. 8 Notes from the President... Swirling storms open March into downpours on rooves, wind through trees, and sogging rains filling our gutters and overflowing our streets. However it comes, there s the promise of spring at the end and, this year, hamantaschen in the beginning. Pesach is on the horizon, and we re heading toward Spaghetti Dinner, Bat Mitzvah, and graduations. This March, however, marks a new beginning with our welcome to Rabbi Choper. He already has us joining with Kesher Israel to bring Dr. Alan Morinis s program to the community next weekend. Dr. Morinis is the founder of the Mussar Institute and on Friday, March 9, at 6:30 at the JCC he will talk about Mussar, what it is about and why we should want to know. It is the kick off to many opportunities over the weekend to see Dr. Morinis, to hear him speak and answer questions. He will be speaking on realizing inner fulfillment and realizing your individual path through an understanding of Mussar. More information is in the flyer on page 7. (RSVP to mussarhouse@gmail.com if you plan to attend). Further, Rabbi Choper has Saturday morning services for TBS members at the Jewish Home. Yes, these are opportunities to experience services every weekend, but it is also a mitzvah for us to enhance Jewish life for the Jewish Residents at the Home. The residents also have family that at times join in the services and this may be a way to connect with others in the community who may be looking for a Jewish connection for themselves.
