Over the past few weeks, Egypt has been heading the indirect negotiations between Israel and the terrorist group ruling the Gaza Strip, in an attempt to prevent recent flare-ups on the Gaza border from escalating into war. Hamas ousted Abbas' Western-backed government from the Gaza Strip in a military coup in Since then, the various efforts to reconcile the rival Palestinian factions the latest brokered by Egypt in late 2017 have failed. Responding to Abbas's threat, Israeli Ambassador to the U.N. Danny Danon said that "every year, ahead of the General Assembly, the Palestinians prepare some propagandist action. Bolton, who was on a visit to Jerusalem, had said earlier on Wednesday the president s speech did not represent a change in the US administration s policy on peace negotiations. It was a good thing to have done, Trump said, of his recognition of bgemc.org Jerusalem and the relocation of the US embassy to the capital, because we took it off the table. Because every time there were peace talks, they never got past Jerusalem becoming the capital. So I said, let s take it off the table. And you know what? Life-Saving Trees Burnt by Incendiary Kites by KKL-JNF for Jerusalem Post, August 22, 2018 In the Western Negev region hundreds of acres of security plantings carried out in this part of Israel since the 1950s have now gone up in smoke due to incessant incendiary kite and balloon attacks from Gaza. KKL-JNF teams are working around the clock to mitigate the damage to these security trees by caring for them on a daily basis. Extensive damage has been inflicted upon thickets of trees planted around eleven communities in the Western Negev in the 1950s to provide a natural protective screen between them and the Gaza Strip.
