The two freelance journalists were working in Syria, attempting to tell the story of the many refugees displaced by the war there, when they were captured by IS last October. Sources Reveal Jihad Mughniyeh 'Was Nasrallah's Bodyguard The Emet Report - AFP, JP, INN, Ynet, WND, DN, MEN, AP Jihad Mughniyeh, the son of Imad Mughniyeh, who was killed in an Israeli airstrike on a terrorist cell in Syria Monday, was one of the personal bodyguards of Hezbollah's top terrorist Hassan Nasrallah, Israeli sources said. In addition, the sources said that the vehicle that Mughniyeh and his fellow Hezbollah terrorists were riding in had "definitely" entered the Syrian side of the Golan from Lebanon. The sources said that Mughniyeh had been seen in a video taken on December 6, 2011, when Nasrallah emerged from his underground secret bunker for a rare public appearance. Nasrallah has been "off the radar" for years, fearing that the IDF would target him for elimination. During a speech Nasrallah made, Mughniyeh appeared on stage with the Hezbollah terror chief, positioning himself to the rear of Nasrallah - in essence 4

5 "watching his back" as one of the security staff. Members of the team are personally approved by Nasrallah, the sources said, and all of them are related to Nasrallah either by blood or by marriage. The latter applies to Mughniyeh, whose father, terrorist Imad Mughniyeh, was married to a Nasrallah family member. Imad Mughniyeh himself was instrumental in setting up Nasrallah's security staff, the sources added. In addition to Mughniyeh, another Hezbollah terrorist eliminated in Monday's raid, Muhammad Ali Hassan al-hassan, was also a member of the security staff, the sources said. Meanwhile, Lebanese sources said Tuesday that the two vehicles targeted by the IAF in the attack - one of which carried Iranian field commander Abu Ali Tabtabai - had left Lebanon hours before they arrived in Quneitra on the Syrian Golan. The purpose of the tour, the sources said, was to allow Tabtabai to review the situation on the border with the purpose of developing new attacks on Israel. On Tuesday, AFP reported that a source in Israel's defense establishment confirmed that Israel had carried out an attack in Syrian territory. Such admissions by Israel are rare. An interview given by an official in the Syrian opposition to CNN Arabic in October said that Jihad Mughniyeh had been appointed "commander of the Golan Heights area" by Hezbollah. Mueid Razlan, a member of the Syrian opposition forces fighting the regime of President Bashar Al-Assad, said at the time that Hezbollah is expanding its operations on the border between Syria and Israel and warned of a possible crisis in the region. Imad Mughniyeh's death in a car bomb attack in Damascus in February of 2008 has been blamed on Israel, and Hezbollah has promised to avenge his death. Imad Mughniyeh was on the most wanted list of the US for attacks on Israeli and Western targets until his death. Tel Aviv Stabbing attack wounds several commuters ICEJ News brief Passengers on Bus 40 in Tel Aviv were targeted Wednesday morning in a terrorist attack which left nine passengers wounded. The stabbing attack was carried out by a 23 year old Palestinian man identified by the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) as Hamza Muhammad Hasan Matrouk from the West Bank city of Tulkarm, who was in Israel illegally. He was chased by a team from the Israel prisons service which happened to be in the area and apprehended after being shot in the leg. "The Israel Police will continue to work at a heightened preparedness level in order to protect the security of the nation's civilians," said National Police Commissioner Insp.-Gen. Yohanan Danino. Meanwhile, the Islamist terror militia Hamas, which rules the Gaza Strip, praised the attack, describing it as a brave and heroic act" and calling on Palestinians to carry out more such attacks. Israeli officials were quick to condemn the attack, with Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman adding that incitement by Hamas, the Palestinian Authority and Arab Israeli leaders was partially responsible. 6 levels, but who all have the same purpose: to kill Jews and eliminate Israel, he said Palestinians Celebrate Tel Aviv Bus Stabbing by Israel Today Staff - January 21, 2015 Average Palestinians and those in positions of power again demonstrated their commitment to and desire for peace with Israel by praising and celebrating a brutal terrorist attack in Tel Aviv on Wednesday morning, when a 22-year-old Arab man boarded a public bus and stabbed 17 Jews. The cartoon to the left was published just h o u r s a f t e r t h e a t t a c k, a n d w a s enthusiastically shared by Palestinians on social media and displayed by local Arab news agencies. The character in the cartoon celebrates the stabbing of 10 Zionists (the original casualty figure provided by police) next to a sign that reads Occupied Tel Aviv. IDF launches raids on suspected accomplice of bus attacker ICEJ News The IDF launched raids early Thursday morning in the West Bank city of Tulkarm, a day after a terrorist attack in Tel Aviv by Hamza Muhammad Hassan Matruch, a Palestinian man from that city. The raids reportedly targeted suspected accomplices of the terrorist, including the source of the knife he purchased and used in his attack. Meanwhile, Herzl Biton, the driver of Bus No. 40 when Matruch attacked it Wednesday morning, remained hospitalized in improving condition Thursday. Seven other victims of the attack remained hospitalized at press time. Hamas Forms 'Liberation Army' in Gaza, Thanks to EU Support Khaled Abu Toameh - gatestoneinstitute.org, January 21, What is disturbing about Hamas's campaign is the fact that some Palestinian parents have been encouraging their sons to join the "Liberation Army." At one registration center in Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, a woman showed up with her 15- year-old son, who told the Hamas operatives: "My dream is to become a jihadist." The preparations for the establishment of the "Liberation Army" are taking place at a time when Hamas is complaining about the lack of support for reconstructing the Gaza Strip in the aftermath of the last military confrontation with Israel. Instead of directing its resources and efforts toward the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, Hamas is recruiting Palestinian teenagers for its jihad against Israel. Hamas will use these teenagers and Palestinian civilians as human shields in the next war with Israel. 6 Hamas is continuing to lead Palestinians toward the path of destruction

Mahmoud Abbas's Palestinian Authority, which signed a reconciliation pact with Hamas last year, cannot avoid responsibility for Hamas's actions, especially given the fact that the two parties are part of the Palestinian "national consensus government."... Hamas's Deif Tells Hezbollah's Nasrallah: Let's Join Forcesal The Emet Report - manar, al hayat, IDF, IDN, INN, Ynet, BB, BI, DN, BB Muhammad Deif, leader of Hamas's military wing, published a letter Thursday morning sending his condolences to Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah. The Al-Qassam Brigades chief commander has not been seen publicly since Operation Protective Edge last summer, in which he was reported to have been killed. In the letter published on the Hezbollah-affiliated Al-Manar website, Deif sends comfort and blessings to Nasrallah and other top Hezbollah leaders following the deaths of six of their members by an Israeli air strike in Syria on Monday. Jihad Mughniyeh, son of the late Imad Mughniyeh who was Hezbollah's former military commander, was among those killed, as was a Hezbollah commander. Six Iranian soldiers and commanders, including a general were also killed in the strike. Deif stressed that the blood of these martyrs is a "resounding call and stinging blow to those who are demoralized and wish to surrender," likely a reference to the Palestinian Authority and their Chairman Mahmoud Abbas who are not engaged in a military struggle with Israel. Additionally, Deif noted called for "all weapons to be directed toward Israel." "There is an obligation on all opposition forces to challenge the Zionist enterprise and put up a strong unified hand against the Zionist enemy and its partners." During Operation Protective Edge an Israeli air strike struck Deif's house killing his wife and child. Fox News reported Deif had been killed as well - a claim Hamas has consistently refuted. In a recent video released for Hamas's 27th anniversary, an old recording of Deif from Operation Pillar of Defense in November 2012 can be heard. A short time later, the shadow of a man, similar in appearance to Deif, can be seen, despite blurry photography. Deif has reportedly survived five Israeli air strikes. His location remains unknown. Temple Mount preacher indicted for incitement ICEJ News The Jerusalem District Attorney's Office issued an indictment Wednesday against Omar Abu Saara, a Moslem cleric from eastern Jerusalem who recently gave a speech on the Temple Mount in the Old City in which he declared, among other things. "I say to the Jews explicitly, the time has come to slaughter you. The time has come to go to war with you, the time has come to kill you. And we, with God's help, will destroy you. We, the Muslims, the correct ones, the faithful and the soldiers of the Islamic caliphate, will arrive to the land to free it from your soiling, and today this is close by." The charges against Saara include incitement to violence and hate speech. 7
