4 ISRAELI EVANGELIST JAKOB DAMKANI UNDERGOES DANGEROUS HEART SURGERY PB - Kahila news - Jul 16, 2018 Israeli evangelist and pastor Jacob Damkani suffered a ruptured aorta three years ago followed by an eight-hour surgery and a long but miraculous recovery. He was thankful to be alive, as the event occurred while he was swimming in the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Tel Aviv. Ninety-five percent of those who experience this medical emergency die from it, he said. God spared my life because I have not yet completed my mission. A year later doctors discovered a dangerous fungus growing on the blood vessel that had been implanted in place of his ruptured one. Since Damkani was feeling well, doctors decided to avoid the risky surgery and instead carry out a series of infusions to try and wipe out the fungus. But during a checkup on Dec. 28 doctors discovered that the deadly fungus had returned. This was the same day that the film A New Spirit a drama film about Damkani s life was released in Israeli theaters. Jacob Damkani on the streets sharing the Good News of Yeshua We are fighting a very real spiritual battle; not just for Jacob s physical health, Damkani s wife, Elisheva, told KNI. Several weeks ago on July 2, 2018, Damkani wrote on his Facebook page that he and Elisheva had decided that he would go through with surgery. The surgeon had never performed such an operation before and was not sure it would be successful. According to Elisheva, Damkani was fully prepared for the surgery to go either way. A week later he underwent the 11-hour surgery and has since remained in intensive care. None of the operating team believed he would survive. We simply kept praying to the One who created this precious man and dearly loves him. What else could we do? Elisheva wrote. On July 12, 2018, Damkani began to breath on his own, although still with the help of a machine. The doctors have confirmed that his condition is improving, however he has been 4 bgemc.org

5 sedated since the operation. This type of surgery gets performed about once a year in the entire world, Elisheva told KNI. The doctors won t say this directly, but people don t usually make it. We don t know how long Jacob s recovery will take because there s not much of a precedent. shells and rockets at Israel from early morning throughout the day. When the sirens go off, residents in the Gaza periphery have only 15 seconds to reach a shelter before impact. Public places including beaches and pools were closed on Saturday, but facilities including summer camps were open as usual on Sunday and farmers allowed to return to their fields to work. The rocket attacks, which started at 1:30 a.m. and lasted until evening, followed a day of protesting at the border fence between the Gaza Strip and Israel on Friday. The protests by Palestinians at the fence have been a weekly occurrence since March. 5

6 In response to the rockets on Saturday, the Israeli military attacked dozen of targets in Gaza including two tunnels, weapons stores and a combat training facility. It was Israel s largest bombing campaign in Gaza since the 2014 war, the military said. Two Palestinians killed during retaliatory air strikes by the Israeli military, however, most likely died in an accidental blast as they were making weapons, according to Palestinian police. Netanyahu flew to Moscow last week to discuss Iranian entrenchment in Syria with Putin last week and on Saturday also spoke to Trump over the phone on the issue. Israel has been trying to rally Russia to support removing Iranianbacked militias as far as possible from the border region on the Golan Heights. At a joint press conference with the Russian leader earlier, Trump said Moscow would like to do certain things with Syria having to do with the safety of Israel We absolutely would like to work in order to help Israel, and Israel will be working with us. So both countries work jointly [for this purpose]. Trump added that creating safety for Israel is something both Putin and I would like to see very much. When terrorist forces are wiped out in south and west Syria, Putin said, the situation on the Golan Heights must be restored to what it was after the 1974 agreement, which set out the terms for the disengagement of forces between Israel and Syria. In a statement following the press conference Monday, Netanyahu thanked the two leaders for their commitment to Israeli security. Also that Netanyahu very much appreciates the security coordination between Israel and Russia and the clear position expressed by President Putin regarding the need to uphold the 1974 Separation of Forces Agreement between Israel and Syria,. 7
