The hike is geared toward adults, but is family-friendly. Please wear closed-toe shoes, long pants, and bug spray. Morning Bike Ride Red Yurt Paul Schulman Stretch your legs with an morning ride up Music Mountain Road on the backside of the mountain across the lake. 8.4 miles with 700 feet of climbing. 9:00 11:30 AM Shacharit, Torah Service, and Musaf: Egalitarian / Conservative Rabbi Josh Cahan Sing and pray in a Conservative-style service, led by men and women with mixed seating. We ll trek to the overlook to enjoy a view of the Berkshire and Taconic Mountains. Wear closedtoe shoes. Food Hackers and Heroes: How People from all Walks of Life are Creating a Healthier, More Sustainable Food System Michael Eckstract We look at the work of six individuals (educators, lawyers, chefs, and activists) whose efforts are improving the quality of food for all people. Each one offers ideas of how we all can contribute to creating a healthier food system for all. Environmental Conflict and Cooperation in the Middle East Dining Room David Lehrer, Director of the Arava Institute for Environmental Studies Whether it is water use, nature preserves, or natural gas deposits, the limited resources shared by Israel and her neighbors can be a source for conflict, but also cooperation. Rabbi Moshe Grussgott In the late 1950 s a repentant former Nazi sought to convert to Judaism in Israel. We will analyze the responsum of Rabbi Moshe HaLevi Steinberg, a member of the Israeli chief rabbinate who accepted the conversion as valid, and explore if there are limits to repentance.
