We will prepare you to be able to lead kirtan in classes, gatherings or just at home for your own devotional practice. If you already know how to play some basic guitar, we can show you how to use the guitar to lead song circles. If you already have some basic piano skills, we can teach you how to adopt those skills to the harmonium. Do you already know how to play a drum? We will show you how it can fit in smoothly. And, of course, there is no need to play anything the main thing is simply to sing!

You are more than welcome to bring your own guitar, drum, harmonium or other instruments. Here in Bali it is easy to buy a new guitar, a new djembe and other percussion instruments at an affordable price. We can help you find an instrument if you don t already have one or if you don t want to bring the one you have. We will provide rhythm instruments like for you to play along with during the retreat.

6 Immersion facilitators Through his warm presence Vasudev creates beautiful spaces for people to come together to sing, share and open up to the mystery of life. His search for truth and meaning has led him to more than 30 years of meditation and spiritual and personal practice. From the Indian Himalayas to the jungles of Brazil to everyday life in his hometown Oslo (Norway), he has studied with a variety over of gurus, teachers and shamans. He started singing mantras as part of his devotional practice in 1987 and has since made and produced a number of albums of devotional music. Six albums cover some of his repertoire of songs collected in India, at Rainbow Gatherings and other unscheduled meetings with beautiful people around the world. Collections of these songs are also available in his two song books Mantras for Bhajan and Songs from the Heart. He is currently living in Ubud, Bali where he shares his gifts of song and soul. Vasudev is also the founder of Finding Self-Love. Born in 1970, he grew up in Oslo, Norway but left 19 years old to be with his guru in the Himalayas. Parallel to his stays at the ashram in India Vasudev studied philosophy, comparative religion, linguistics and pedagogy at the University of Oslo where he majored with the thesis Realizing the Self a hermeneutical analysis (1998).

7 In 2005, he completed his training as a philosophical counsellor ( This led to work in cognitive therapy, positive psychology, BRIEF therapy (solution focused approach) and ART (Aggression Replacement Training). Vasudev is also a trained schoolteacher (PPU 2005) and has worked in both Waldorf and Montessori schools. Since 2014, Vasudev have been instrumental in building up Leadership by Heart Coaching, a life-coaching school out of Norway. Vasudev has written the book The Art of Coaching used in the curriculum of Leadership by Heart Coaching and Living From Vision Coaching. Ana Lu is native of Costa Rica, a musician and a yoga instructor graduated from Nosara Yoga Institute in Costa Rica where she received her 500hrs certification in She has also trained in Aerial Yoga in Boulder, Colorado, U.S.A. and deepened her Yoga studies in India and the west with diverse teachers focusing mainly on Iyengar and Hatha. She currently teaches YTT 200 and 300 hour YTT programs in Bali. Coming from a musician family, she has been playing piano, guitar and singing since early age. She currently practices bhakti yoga through devotional mantra chanting, kirtan and bhajans. She plays harmonium, guitar and sings. She has dedicated the last decade of her life to studying selfinquiry through Advaita Vedanta and Buddhism. General information about Bal, Indonesia How long does it take to fly to Bali? From most places in Europe it usually takes roughly 20 hours to fly to Bali. That means you arrive the day after you leave. Calculate a day or two for resting and adjusting to the time difference. From most of the USA, the flight to Bali takes 25 hours or more. To arrive in Bali on a particular date, you have to leave two calendar days prior. If you want to arrive on Nov 1st, you ll have to leave on

9 Oct 30th (this is partly due to crossing the International Date Line and partly due to the transit time). Before booking your airline ticket, make sure to check how long the flight is. It could be as long as 48 hours but very often you can find an almost identical ticket with a much shorter travel time. If you are able to come a few days before the retreat, you will have time to get over the jet-lag, acclimatize and get used to a different time zone. Air ticket prices vary greatly if you have time to come a week before and leave a week after major holidays, your ticket may be less than half the price. If you need extra accommodation before the retreat, we can also help you find a beautiful place to stay, be it in the cultural and spiritual center of Ubud, or next to a beautiful beach in Bali or a quiet island not far away. 10 Do I need a visa? Most nationalities get a visa on arrival that lasts 30 days. It is free. You can also buy a visa for $ 35 that is extendable for an additional month. How hot is it? The average temperature most places in Bali is about C (77-95 F) year-round. However, higher up in the mountains the temperature can drop to 15 C (60 F) at night. Does it rain a lot? The weather is unpredictable in Bali just as in most places. There is a rainy season from November to February with December and January having the heaviest rainfall statistically speaking. That doesn t mean it rains all the time during this season it usually rains once or twice a day with sun and blue skies in between the rain torrents. Do I need vaccines? This said lommelegen.no (the pocket doctor) about vaccines to Bali and the neighboring island of Lombok: Like all other exotic destinations, it is recommended to have valid vaccines against diphtheria, tetanus, polio and hepatitis A. If only a few weeks stay, I would also recommend Dukoral. I would not take malaria medicine even if it appears in Lombok, but you must prevent mosquito bites as well as you can. For longer stays there is a vaccine against typhoid fever and Japanese B encephalitis.
