From the Director of Town Panchayats Letter D.O.Roc.No.4378/ 2014 /E3, dated From the Deputy General Manager, NABARD, Lr.No.NB.TNRO/ 189/RIDF-3/RIDF-XX/ , letter dated Government letter No.10487/ Finance (Res-II) Department /2014-7, ORDER: dated During the Budget Speech for the year , the Hon'ble Minister for Finance has made the following announcement:- "To improve the infrastructure in Town Panchayats, Km of road works, 75 Storm water drains and 42 bridges have been taken up at an estimated cost of Rs.140 Crore under the NABARD scheme for the year During , 273 road works to a length of 388 Km, 105 Storm Water drain works to a length of Km and 29 bridges will be taken up at an estimated cost of Rs.150 Crore under NABARD-RIDF scheme" 2. Accordingly, the Director of Town Panchayats in the letter first read above has sent the proposal for Improvement of roads, construction of bridges and Storm water drains. 2 The Director of Town Panchayats has therefore requested the Government to consider and recommend the proposal for approval of 407 works at an estimated cost of Rs Crore to NABARD for necessary approval and allotment of funds under NABARD RIDF-XX for the year Meanwhile, the Deputy General Manager, NABARD, in the letter second read above, has stated that the proposal for construction of storm water drains is not an eligible activity under RIDF and requested to consider to treat the storm water drain (105 works) project as withdrawn and submit other eligible project under NABARD RIDF, for an estimated cost of Rs Crore, for sanction under RIDF-XX and also requested that the sectoral cap of 20% of normative allocation for rural roads and 10% for Rural Bridges, have to be maintained at the time of forwarding projects for sanction under RIDF-XX. 5. In the letter third read above the Government in Finance (Res-II) Department has stated that the Deputy General Manager,NABARD, Chennai has informed that the Project Sanctioning Committee (PSC) in its 144 th meeting has sanctioned RIDF loan of a sum of Rs Crore to Government of Tamil Nadu for the year under NABARD RIDF-XX with the following funding pattern:- Sl.
