1 WEARING A GEMSTONE General 1. A gemstone is a very valuable asset and must be worn with full respect, commitment and faith on Gemstone. 100% trust on Gemstone is a must for adorning (wearing) it. Therefore, you should only prefer a gemstone when it comes from your heart and not wear it forcibly as it won t have any useful or worthwhile effect, if there is lack of trust and confidence in the gemstone. 2. Always buy a Stone from trustworthy source and do pre-inspection and due diligence prior to purchasing the stone and not after it has been set up or casted into a wearable ring or pendant etc. A stone gives no effect when doubted. Stones like Blue Saphhire which are quick acting must not be worn without precheck and once worn shall not be doubted for its quality or price as it tends to give negative effects when doubted. 3. If in doubt, pl remove that stone and go for another one. 4. Gemstones tend to have discernible (which can be reasonably felt or experienced) effects during the major/sub/sub-sub period of ruling planet. At other times it will contribute in a normal manner, and effects may not be very subtly experienced or felt. 5. Gemstones are effective in shaping and balancing your personality and give you an accentuated effect and motivation at the mental level. They are a rectification / remedy at mental level and not at physical level. It will be incorrect to think of them as a treatment of diseases and health. They mainly assist in generating positive vibes for corrective action and aid in moving in correct direction to achieve fruitful results. They are a means to an end and not an end in themselves. 6. The most important thing is the KARMA and SUBJECT/ Native (Person who will cause the karma). Without action or Karma nothing really moves. Therefore Karma must be effected in a fruitful manner for a desirable end result. It should be always remembered that one has to go through the Karmic cycle as designed by the God Almighty. Gemstones or any astrological therapy assists or aids like an Umbrella in rain. One can not stop the Rain to happen, but one can always carry the protection of an Umbrella. The protection of course will be limited to an extent in effect due to prevailing constraints, situations and other factors. Thus personal discretion and due care must be applied by Subject while making the choice of wearing the Gemstones or otherwise. The Astrologer is restricted to only rendering Good, Unbiased, Impartial and Correct advice without any vested interests. The paapa of any malafide advice will be borne by the Astrologer. 7. The role of an Astrologer is to Guide, Advice and Suggest Corrective therapy as per Astrology. He shall help the native to see things correctly in the right perspective. It shall be the duty of the native to choose as to what part or aspect(s) of his life he wants to focus on and go for gemstones accordingly after prioritising same. It wil be prudent to remember that nothing exists in isolation and life is intertwined and interwoven in a particular way. Like diferent organs exist in a body, but to generate an action or result they contribute together to cause or manifest an event or action. By same token just one Gemstone may not be sufficient to rectify all aspects of an interwoven, interdependent and complex nature of human life or even one particular result area in life. Therefore it is a combination of stones rather than single stone which would synergise to produce a better and desirable result to a satisfactory level. 8. The effects of Gemstones are observed over a period of time. Expecting them to always produce good results at the wink of an eyelid is too much to ask for. 9. The investment in a Gemstone must be appreciated on pro-rata basis over the life of the stone. Generally the astrological life of stones is considered to be 03 to 05 yrs, and Seven (07) yrs for Diamond as per available Literature. Moreso, it also commensurates and go well as the max length of sub period of a planet is hardly more than 03 yrs. However, the stone may continue to give its effect in some measure thereafter also. 10. Disclaimer: The above opinion is based on my personal experience, interactions, available literature and research in Vedic Astrology and is not equivalent of a thesis conducted in a scientific study or research conducted by Certified Professionals like Scientists, Doctors, Professors etc.

2 Procedure For Wearing Gemstones 1. Find the Muhurata or timing of wearing the Gemstone ring from the Astrologer or a Panditji. 2. Make necessary preparation prior to starting Pooja or Empowerment / Energising / Propitiation of Gemstone, like getting fruits, flowers, idols or photos of Presiding deity, Prasadam and offerings, ring/pendant and donation etc. 3. Get a good ASANA (seating) of Blanket or thick cushion which is comfortable. Face actual or Natural North or East direction for Pooja. Do not take directions as per the layout of house or Flat. Similarly, you should place Idol or Picture of Deity in front of you. You should be facing the deity. 3. Decide whether the Pooja is to be done by you or through a Panditji. We strongly recommend that the same is done by the wearer or Subject otherwise assistance may be taken from a Qualified Panditji only. 4. Once you are ready to perform the Pooja for empowering the Gemstone, sit on the Asana with full concentration and devotion towards Lord Ganesha, and the presiding deity. It s good to start the Pooja by taking the Blessings of your parents or elders at your home. The Gemstone and the ring must be washed or cleaned with pavitra or holy water made by mixing clean and fresh water+gangajal+ other items as applicable. This holy water wil be taken as Charanamrit for distribution later. Do Pavitrikaran (Purification of environment around you), apply Tilak on Forehead. Cover your head (Preferably with a Cap or cloth or Tippet (Dupatta) for ladies, but not black or blue in colour). Do a little Pranayam or deep breathing as is easily possible for you prior to starting the ritual. Wear ambient coloured clothes to the Gemstone being worn. Blue/ Black/ Brown are at best avoided. Avoid wet clothes. Similarly ladies should avoid Pooja with wet hair. Generally ladies should avoid any Vedic Pujas during the monthly menses. This is not due to any negativity but at this time they are extremely powerful like a Shakti in themselves. 5. Any Vedic Pooja is inititated by taking the blessings of Lord Ganesha. There are sanskrita Mantras for that. However more than the language or Sutra it is the Shradha, Faith or Purity of heart that matters. So, do not get disheartened if you do not know the Sanskrit Shloka or Mantraa, just begin by praying to Lord Ganesha and seek his permission and blessings for wearing the particular Gemstone, and that the ritual or Pooja should go Nirvighan or say without any impediments or problems during the conduct of Pooja. Similarly, do Gayatri Mantra recitation (Jaapa) 12 times before starting with further procedure. Both mantras are given at last page. 6. Pooja may be done in a language which you are most comfortable with or feel at best while connecting to God. Criteria is to connect and communicate your truest feelings to God and obtaining lord s Aashirwad in the form of Gemstone you are going to wear. Language and Ritual should not bog you down. Infact in our view there are no RIGHT or Wrong Rituals. Only True and Good intent for the Pooja is what matters, rest may not be so very important. 6. Ritual can be divided in three parts, 1.Initial pooja 2. Planetary Mantra Jaap and 3. Aarti and Finishing off. Part- I- Initial Pooja- After obtaining permission of Lord Ganesha, Start with the normal Pooja like, Bathing of Idols of Presiding Deity and Lord Ganesha and the Gemstone Ring, Offering Clothes/Mauli/Threads, Dhurva, Tilak, Deepak or Holy Lamp, Incense or Fragrance, Flowers, Naivedyam, Fruits, Tambulam as per your own system followed normally at home. Remember, the ring must be placed on a heap of particular grain, although there are various other ways and the same is left to personal choice and discretion. This is called Panchopchar (pacifying the 5 planets Mangla, Budha, Brihaspati or Guru, Shukra, Shani. Part II- After finishing off the above, now is the main thing of JAAPA of the particular planetary mantra. So once finished with part I, close your eyes and seek permission of the presiding deity, that you wish to wear the particular stone for warding off the problems associated with the particular planet and that you earnestly seek lord s blessings in the form of this gemstone ring. So please bless me Lord as I start with the mantra Jaap to seek your divine power in this stone and make the stone come alive in your form. Thereafter start with the given mantra and chant it for 108 times or multiple of 108 as per your convenience. But mantra jaap must be very rythmic and in the correct manner. The mantras can be recited, listened to from audio and sing or sync along mentally also. Focus is on concentrating and aligning your mind in sync with the vibrations of the mantra (Mantra + Mind synchronization). Mantras are freely and easily available on websites, YouTube etc.

3 Part III- Once completed the Jaapa, Pick up the ring as the powerful blessings of the Lord and wear it. Thank the Lord and ask for his blessings, Guidance for good Karma and positive thoughts etc and anything you wish to pray the lord for. Afterwards commence with the Aarti and Charanamrit plus Prasadam distribution. Shake the Aasana and Kumbha (Utensil filled with water). Take blessings of the elders in the house etc. Thank everyone for their blessings. Dispose off the materials used for Pooja with edible stuff to be given as Daana (donation) along with other items for the daan. Finish off with a Good feeling and Promise to do the Right Karma.
