10 Understanding Holy Communion For Christ our passover has also been sacrificed for us, refore, let us celebrate feast. 1 Corinthians 5:7-8 Because we believe Table belongs to Lord, it is vital that you come this morning on His terms: 1. You must be in communion with Jesus Christ by faith and repentance, trusting Him alone for your salvation. 1 Corinthians 11: You must be in communion with your brors and sisters in Christ. Matw 5:23-24; Ephesians 4: You must be in communion with church (any Bible-believing church) as a baptized member in good standing. Matw 18:15-18; Hebrews 13:17 4. 11 Prayers for Those Not Communing For those searching for truth: Lord Jesus, you claim to be way, truth and life. If what you claim is true, please guide me, teach me, and open to me reality of who you are. Give me ability to follow you no matter what it might cost me. Give me an understanding for you that is coherent, convincing, and leads to life that you promise. Amen. For those who desire to profess faith in Christ: Lord Jesus, I admit that I am weaker and more sinful than I ever believed, but through you, I am more loved and accepted than I ever dared hope. I thank you for paying my debt, bearing my punishment on cross and offering forgiveness and new life. Knowing that you have been raised from dead and are now representing me at Far s right hand in heaven, I turn from my sins and receive you as my savior. Amen. A prayer for those struggling against sin: Lord Jesus, give me ability to see in you fulfillment of all my needs and desires, and help me to turn from every false source of satisfaction to feed on you, true and living bread. Enable me to lay aside sin that clings so closely to me, and run with perseverance race that you have set before me, looking only to you, author and perfecter of my faith. Amen. A prayer for covenant children who have not yet made a profession of faith: Lord Jesus, thank you for giving me opportunity to grow up in a Christian family where I am surrounded by good news of gospel. Help me to grow in my understanding of who you are and what you have done for me on cross. Help me learn what it means for me to turn from my sins and trust in you alone for my salvation. Sunday School Kickoff TODAY: All ages begin in Sanctuary at 9am. This is also promotion Sunday for children and youth. Men s 6-Week Fall Bible Study: Beginning Wednesday, Aug Sept. 6:30am at church. We study book of Galatians. This book is great for beginners and experts because it is all about gospel of Jesus and its implications for our lives. 15 Information & Events Women s Covenant Group Registration: Covenant Groups resume in September and are open to all women who are members of FWPCA. Moms Groups meet monthly during school year for fellowship, encouragement, book discussion, and prayer with or moms led by seasoned older moms focusing on how to biblically live out calling of morhood. Women to Women Groups of mixed ages and stages also meet monthly year-round for prayer, book study, mutual encouragement and support drawing m into a closer relationship with God to know Him in a deeper way. 17 Christian Education Fall 2017 The Gospel and Transformation Is Gospel exclusively about securing your place in heaven? Does it primarily apply to question, If you died today do you know where you would spend eternity? While se are important questions to consider, does Gospel offer more? Does it speak to here-and-now realities of life? Does it reach into our most broken moments and offer peace to troubled soul? Jeremy Lelek take us through a journey to bring forth divine glories of Gospel as y apply to believer s everyday experiences those that bring joy, as well as those that call us to faithfully persevere during seasons of sin and suffering. The aim of this Sunday school series is to facilitate a deep abiding hope in Gospel of Jesus Christ while drawing attendees closer to loving, merciful, and kind heart of God. Led by Jeremy Lelek Lecture Hall Pastor's Welcome Class: If you are new to FWPC, Darwin would really like to meet you. You'll also get to meet our staff and some of our officers and leaders in church, and learn some basic things about our church. The Class meets for four weeks. Room 205 What s Next? New to FWPC, this class take questions everyone has (but is afraid to ask) and turn m into a discussionoriented format for anyone to be a part of. Led and facilitated by church members on a weekly basis, this class take familiar topics in Christian living and ology and offer m for discussion and application around coffee and donuts.
