1 Life is His & All life belongs to God. It is He who made us, and we are his (Psalm 100:3). He cares about each life so much that he has the hair on each head numbered (Luke 12:7). Every pregnant teen, every unborn child, every broken woman with an abortion in her past, every frightened teen who finds out he s a father is loved by the Creator. Each one has inestimable value and needs to know the love and mercy of Jesus Christ. Our desire as a church is to be His hands and feet to all those who are hurting, regardless of race or social status. We believe in reaching out in practical ways including material help for those in need, peer counseling, accurate information, community referrals, pregnancy testing, educational ultrasounds, fatherhood classes and much more. Here at Triumph, we reach out in practical ways throughout the year through our Deacon Ministry and our Adoption and Foster Care Ministry Team. Specifically in regards to the preciousness of life, we partner with and support organizations like First Choice Clinic, Lutherans for Life, God s Children Adoption Agency, Inc., and 40 Days for Life. Triumph is part of a network of churches known as the Church of the Lutheran Brethren. Our network of churches supports life. 3 Why Cities Matter Jeremiah 29:1-14 Pastor Kristian Anderson 1 This is the text of the letter that the prophet Jeremiah sent from Jerusalem to the surviving elders among the exiles and to the priests, the prophets and all the other people Nebuchadnezzar had carried into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon. 2 (This was after King Jehoiachin and the queen mother, the court officials and the leaders of Judah and Jerusalem, the skilled workers and the artisans h a d g o n e i n to e x i l e f r o m Jerusalem.) 3 He entrusted the letter to Elasah son of Shaphan and to Gemariah son of Hilkiah, whom Zedekiah king of Judah sent to King Nebuchadnezzar in Babylon. It said: 4 This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says to all those I carried into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon: 5 Build houses and settle down; plant gardens and eat what they produce. 6 Marry and have sons and daughters; find wives for your sons and give your daughters in marriage, so that they too may have sons and daughters. Increase in number there; do not decrease. 7 Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile.
