Gerald is the Coordinator for Muslim Ministries in the Pacific Union Conference and also serves on the Board of Advisors for North American Division Adventist-Muslim Relations. Monday 2:15 p.m. Salon C The Quran: Part I Discover the incredible endorsement of the Holy Scriptures in the Quran and how it demands all Muslims to read and adhere to its writings. Tuesday 10:30 a.m. Salon C The Quran: Part II Explore how the Quran bestows high accolades and titles upon Jesus that are significant when sharing the Gospel with Muslims. Tuesday 2:15 p.m. Salon C Establishing Meaningful Relationships with Muslims Learn practical steps to establish sustainable and meaningful relationships with Muslims in personal and corporate contacts in the American context. Kent Bramlett is Assistant Professor of Archaeology and the History of Antiquity at La Sierra University where he has taught since He earned degrees in Theology and Biblical Languages at Walla Walla College before attending the Seminary at Andrews University and going on to complete a Ph.D. in Near Eastern Archaeology at the University of Toronto. 11 Our Presenters Tuesday 8:30 a.m. Salon E-H Hezekiah and the Assyrian Problem The late 8th Century BC was a troubled time for small independent kingdoms beyond the eastern shores of the Mediterranean. When Hezekiah inherited the Judahite throne from his father Ahaz, he dreamed of restoring the Davidic glory to Jerusalem. What would it take? Religious reform? Good administration? Trust in God? In a rare confluence of Bible, ancient inscriptions, archaeology, and Assyrian art reliefs, we can recount the audacious attempt of Hezekiah to push back the greatest military power of the day. Tuesday 10:15 a.m. 2:15 p.m. (Repeated) Salon B Illustrating the Bible Through Archaeology Archaeology reveals the world in which the stories of the Bible unfolded. It provides the framework within which the details of the Bible make sense. Sometimes archaeological discoveries relate to individual characters or Biblical narratives, but more often archaeology illuminates that foreign country which is the past. We will explore the ways archaeology intersects with Scripture and look at examples where archaeology sheds new light on Biblical people, places, and things. Rich DuBose began serving the Pacific Union Conference as a resource developer and provider in He is currently director of Church Support Services, which functions as the research and development entity for ministry in the Pacific Union. Some of his activities include developing new sharing brochures, online study guides, web outreach tools, publishing a quarterly idea newsletter, and producing a series of story videos that focus on creative ministries. Monday 10:15 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. (Repeated) Salon B The Separation of Church and Hate: Why Kindness Matters We live in an increasingly divided age where political parties refuse to dialogue and govern for the common good; where cultural issues become incendiary weapons that inspire conflict and confrontation; where religion is mocked for its inability to effect change; where war is touted as the best way to resolve differences, and where many churches manifest the same divisions and hatreds within their own ranks that are in the world. Is it any wonder that so many don t believe in God? Discover how your church can be salt and light in a bland and darkened age.
12 Our Presenters Dave Gemmell is an Associate Director of the North American Division Ministerial Department. His role is to discover, develop, and distribute resources for the pastors of the Division. He received his Doctor of Ministry from Fuller Theological Seminary with an emphasis in multi-cultural leadership. His pastoral experience includes service in the San Francisco Bay Area, Maui, and Las Vegas. He has also served the North American Division in the Adventist Communication Network and Church Resource Center. Monday 10:15 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. (Repeated) Sierra 5 Sticky Adventist Churches Church marketing helps bring people in the front door but what keeps them from marching out the back? How do we cultivate a sense of belonging? How do we turn visitors into leaders? This workshop gleans ideas from some of the 5,000 R&D sites across the NAD that are getting sticky. Tuesday 10:15 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. (Repeated) Sierra 5 Secret North American Division Evangelism Resources Revealed No longer clothed in a veil of secrecy this seminar unveils some of the finest tools ever produced for evangelism--and all of them are free! Engaging graphics, illustrations ripped from the headlines, mentoring for newbie evangelists are just a few of the secret resources uncovered. These include a quick glance at Bible Graphics Studio, ifollow Discipleship, Living With Hope and introducing the brand new resource Bible Study Factory. Daniel R. Jackson, the President of the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists, was elected June 28, 2010, by delegates of the world church at their business session in Atlanta, Georgia. Dan is a native Canadian and, with the exception of five years of service in the Southern Asia Division, has lived and ministered in Canada. He is a graduate of Canadian Union College and Andrews University, from which he holds a Master of Arts in Religion in Systematic Theology. During his career, Dan has served the church as a pastor, teacher and administrator. Sunday 7:00 p.m. Salon E-H His Word, His Time The closer we come to the return of Jesus, the more certain we can be of the reliability of His Word. Monday 8:00 a.m. Salon E-H Current Issues in the North American Adventist Church Dan Jackson interacts with attendees on the latest issues, challenges, and opportunities in the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Monday 7:00 p.m. Salon E-H Stages of Surrender At every stage of faith it is possible to get stuck because we hang onto things we don t need but can t bear to part with.
