1 FALL 2018 CONNECT GROUPS A.C.T.S. A.C.T.S. (Alcohol/Chemical Treatment Series) is a curriculum-based, self-help, recovery and educational program for young people. It offers a holistic approach that encompasses the emotional, physical and spiritual aspects of an individual or family. Taught by certified instructors, A.C.T.S. can assist in probation requirements and provide participants progress reports to state or federal agencies. Each month we will meet on Friday OR Saturday for a three-hour period to make cards relevant to birthdays/sympathy/thinking of you/holidays. No experience necessary. BIBLE QUIZZING Bible Quizzing is a ministry designed to put the Word of God in the hearts of young people. It helps young people mature in intellect, attitude, emotions and most of all, helps them grow spiritually. There are very few other areas in which young people are able to socialize with so many other godly youth on a regular basis. It develops disciple and responsibility, and tests young people's ability to cooperate as a team. 3 KEYS TO SPIRITUAL GROWTH In Peter's letter "to those who have obtained like precious faith" he gave two promises that are sure to impact one's life if fully comprehended. According to Peter, you and I can be "partakers of the divine nature" and "never fall" (II Peter 1:1-10). In Keys to Spiritual Growth, Irvin Baxter clearly explains these promises and how they will enable us to become partakers of the divine nature. He also expounds on what we must do in order to never fall. It includes quality instruction in parenting, small group discussion, and the interaction of more experienced mothers with younger moms. Using momtomom.org/heart-talk, this Connect Group is designed to be both a place of nurture for committed Christian women and a "safe place" to bring community friends. 5 NC RUN Are you a runner? In training? Wanting to start an exercise plan with great company? From Beginner to Advanced our group will be promoting health, wellness, and an active lifestyle through running and giving glory to God in all that we do. This 18-Week Course will meet every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday mornings as we train together for a 5K, 10K, and a final 15K.
