2 My Dear International Sunday School Department Family, Greetings in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ, who has given to us gifts to be used in His service, and for His glory. I am sincerely humbled at the opportunity to serve as your International Sunday School Department Field Representative, and work harmoniously with our dynamic International Sunday School Superintendent, Bishop Alton Gatlin. Certainly with our combined efforts and your continued support, our International Sunday School Department will be able to make a powerful impact in the Kingdom of God. As we begin making plans for our International Auxiliary In Ministries Convention 2013, my prayer for us is three-fold. First, that the prayers you presented to God concerning your jurisdictional and local Sunday School Departments will be answered. Second, that your financial gifts will become the seeds that bring forth a harvest of blessings for you and your family. Third, that you will apply all the tools and techniques you ve learned and begin to see spiritual and numerical growth in your Sunday Schools. I am confident that God will answer. Finally, let me express my sincere appreciation for your support of our Children of the Kingdom Duke and Duchess Pageant This is a wonderful opportunity to provide our children and their families with an experience that they will treasure throughout their lives. As the Bible states in Matthew 19:14, But he said, Leave the children alone! Allow the little ones to come to Me, and do not forbid or restrain, or hinder them, for of such (as these) is the kingdom of heaven composed. (AMP) The International Sunday School Department stands as a great testimony of what can happen when brothers and sisters are united in purpose. Let us strive to bring glory to God by undergirding our children, supporting our leaders, and caring for each other. Being confident of this very thing, that He which have begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. 3 International Sunday School Department Parents/Chaperons, Thank you for allowing your child to participate in our Duke & Duchess Pageant! We want to make this a great experience for you and your child. To ensure that you and our future contestant are prepared, here is the information you will need for this year s event. If you have and questions you can contact the Pageant Coordinator, Field Representative Cecile Hines at hinescecile@yahoo.com and phone Non- Refundable Application fee of $100 should be mailed in the form of check or money order along with application to: Children of the Kingdom Each contestant will be judged on Congeniality Talent Occasional Attire Monetary Contribution. **Judging is based on the contestant s ability to perform, NOT in comparison to each other.** The winner is determined through a point system. Whoever has the most points in each category will win in that category The contestant with the highest OVERALL scores will be crowned Duke and Duchess. Check-in: Contestants will be required to have the following submitted to registration table 30min prior to competition start. Completed application Total of monetary contributions Prepared CD of music or presentation material with instructions. All music MUST be on compact disk (CD) and labeled. 5 Contestant Categories Congeniality (Presentation): (up to 25 points)each child will be individually introduced to the panel and asked to say their name, age, the church they attended, and what they want to be when they grow up. They will be judged on their confidence, attitude, and articulation. **Casual dress** Talent: (up to 25 points) All talents are welcomed. Talent performances include dance, singing, presentation readings/reciting, athletic demonstrations, etc. Performance maximum is 6 minutes, including set up and exit. They will be judged on creativity, execution, timeliness, and attire. Occasional Attire: (up to 25 points) This will be the time for the contestants to really show their personality through dress. The contestant can choose any occasion; formal, school, sport, church, etc. attire to model on stage. Props can be used to identify occasion. Contestants will be judged on recognition of occasion, catwalk presentation, stage presence, creativity, and timeliness. Example of Props: cheerleaders carry pom-poms, school students carry backpacks and/or lunchboxes. Monetary Contributions: The non- refundable $100 application fee is included in contestants total contribution. The points for monetary contributions are predetermined by the scale below. $200-$500: 5 points $550-$800: 10 points $850-$1100: 15 points $1150-$1400: 20 points $1400-over: 25 points
