11 BUILDING BRIDGES TO UNDERSTANDING I ACTIVE FAITH IN Ti-IE PUBLIC SQUARE I "No man is an island"... and as people of faith this has never been more accurate or more important. Our world today feels utterly torn apart. Fear, uncertainty, and a deep misunderstanding of others forces us further and further apart and from the vibrant, sustaining human community we hope to create. Join us at Grace Lutheran Church as we strive to open a dialogue to consider how people of faith can better relate to one another and the community at large in addressing the issues of society, poverty, and the environment. It is in the spirit of repairing these rifts and cultivating this community that we invite you to a Community Conversation on September 28 at 7pm at Grace Lutheran Church 2245 Walters Ave in Northbrook, IL. ( ) Our guest speakers/facilitators will be: Stephen Bouman Executive Director of the Domestic Mission Unit for the Evangelical Lutheran Church in American (ELCA) and formerly bishop of the Metropolitan New York Synod, ELCA.
