All donations are tax deductible. The Children s Chapel Choir will have its first rehearsal on Saturday, September 10 th at 12:00noon. Children ages 4-11 are welcome to join the Choir. Please contact Sis. Shirley Pearson at (404) for more information. The 2016 Bylaws Committee will be reviewing the Church s Bylaws for any needed changes, including additions and/or deletions. If there are any sections or parts of the Bylaws that you would like the Committee to consider amending, please go to the Members Only section of the website to access (be sure to enter- pastor - as the password) and complete the online Proposed Amendment form (copies are also available in the church office). All Proposed Amendment forms must be turned in no later than Tuesday, September 13, Please leave all paper Amendment forms in Dea. Please join us for the One Heart Marriage Retreat: For Better or For Worse on Friday, October 14 th & Saturday, October 15 th. The Retreat will be held at the Georgia Baptist Conference Center in Toccoa, GA. The Retreat fee ($185) covers lodging, meals and spiritual rest. Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem so that we will no longer be a reproach. ONE GREAT SEASON OF GIVING GOAL: To receive $759,000 by Saturday, July 17, 2017 MILESTONE #1: 1,200 members submit $100 above and beyond their normal giving by or before August 31, 2016 so we can replace the entire roof on the gym before this winter. (Total of $120,000) MILESTONE #2: 1,200 members submit at least $10.00 per week above and beyond their normal tithes for the 50 weeks between July 17, 2016 and July 17, 2017 to pay for additional campus repairs and renovations (e.g. Genesis Room, bathrooms, parking lot, etc.). (Total of $600,000)

5 You re Invited to Participate in the Women s Day Choir 2016 Women of all age groups are welcome! You do not have to be a member of any choir; You do not need to be a singer as songs will be rendered from the heart all you need is a willing heart, your Bible and a Spirit of Worship. The next rehearsal is Tuesday, September 6 th at 7:00pm (Choir Room-Bldg. 2). Contact: Sis. Shirley Pearson, Choir Director at The Dance Ministry will continue rehearsing for Women s Day 2016, on Tuesdays, (next rehearsal September 6 th ), from 5:00pm to 6:45pm. All ages are welcome to participate. Please meet in the Sanctuary. Come with a willing spirit to praise and worship God in the dance. For more information, contact Min. Edie Hopewell at IPRAISE Youth Church is held every Sunday except the 3 rd Sunday for all teens at 10:45am at Building 3. Youth Fulfillment Hour is held every Sunday at 9:30am in Bldg. 3. Midweek Bible Study is held on 7:30pm in Bldg. 3. The IPRAISE Student Prayer LINE will resume on Sunday, September 11 7:30pm. Join us for 5 minutes of Prayer to start off your school week. The next Ascension Gavel Club will be Wed., Sept. 7 th at 7:30pm in Bldg. 3 Rm.118. Join the Youth Ministry for Pop Up Bible Study off Campus Wednesday, September 7 th at Fellini s Pizza in Downtown Decatur. Meet us or ride with us there (leave at 7:15pm; return by 8:30pm.) If you have a desire to serve the young people of Greenforest as a Youth Ministry Leader, please mark your calendar for EXPAND, a youth leader training & orientation on Saturday, September 17 th at 10:30am. Our special guest will be Mike Owens. PARENTS: Please join the Greenforest Youth Ministry for a Sunday Inside the Life of a Greenforest Teen during IPraise Open House and Youth Ministry Expo on Sunday, Sept 11 th. Attention High School Students please consider attending the College Prep 101 on Saturday, September 24 th. Registration begins at 9:30am. Program time is 10am-4pm at Benjamin E. 7 VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) Greenforest Community Baptist Church Human Resources Director (Sis. Veverly B. Allen-Stokes) and the Personnel Committee (Sis. Olivia Maupin and Dea. Andre Turner) are currently seeking volunteers to assist in the church staff organizational review. Phase II of this process will include conducting a job analysis, not an evaluation of the person performing the job. We are seeking SMEs with knowledge about job functions within the church that one has performed, trained, or supervised persons employed in the target position listed below. SMEs will most likely have a minimum of three years of experience in their field of expertise with strong time management and prioritization skills, along with the ability to interact effectively with internal team members and external partners. Mostly, they must have a heart to passionately serve others! PLEASE NOTE: To Volunteer for this great opportunity to serve, NO Resume required.
