With the membership of a number of churches dropping, and all vying for the same population, we cannot afford to just sit and wish for growth. ".'"".."

3 The churcbes.in our area are : African M~thodi~t Episcopal; Seventh Day Adventist; 'Anglican (2); Evangelical; Brethren; Church of Christ. Emmanuel Methodist Church, with its adjacent manse,is located in Southampton 'Parish, whic;:h is toward: the west end of the island. The surrounding area is rural, historically having been farmland, but now being primarily a residential area. There are some businesses in the area, mostly related to tourism. There are however grocery stores, banks and pharmacies within.a ten minute drive of the church. There are nursery schools, primary and middle schools in fairly close proximity to, the church.. PROFILE 2 - MINISTRY OF PASTOR:AL CHARGE. A Mission Statement for Emmanuel Methodist Church was drafted in 2007 "which reads as foliows.', '\ : " ",.,- "',' " " ' The mission of Emmanuel Methodist Church, in faithfulness to the Gospel of Jesus ChriSt, is to provide meaningful and enriching worship experiences and spiritual support for its members, to offer a range pf program options that will provide Christian nurture and fellowship for all ages~''and, to bea resource,for~ice and the Christia!) -life of the community in which the congregation exists,.- Emmanuel is located in Southampton parish, an area best described as-suburban or rural.there are no active community centers in the, area. We have in the past had a close relationship with our n~arest neighbour, Mount Zion A~E. When their sanctuary was dam8:ged ina hurricane, they were welcomed to use our sanctuary during the time of the repair. -, Because of our size, and the number of involved members, outreach has been, limited. The choir has done-outreach at various senior facilities, presenting musical pieces. We should strive to do more outreachto our Church family, to people looking for a new Church home, and to the homeless. 5 Trustees Manse Committee M&S Committee Real Estate includes the Sanctuary, graveyard, parsonage, and an undeveloped lot adjacent to the parsonage. EMMANUEL METHODIST CHURCH PARSONAGE Emmanuel Methodist Parsonage sits atop a hill overlooking the Church, and with amazing panoramic views of the Little Sound to the North. There are spacious grounds that are managed by a landscaping company along with the Church grounds. It is a spacious, well maintained three bedroom two bathroom house, with living room and dining room separated by fireplace, fully equipped kitchen, laundry room with washer and-dryer, an office that offers comfort as well as privacy when needed and a garage. The third bedroom is being used as a den/tv room at present butean be rearranged' to suit. There is a covered patio off ofthe livirig room. The bedrooms are air-conditioned. The parsonage is fully furnished including all linens and kitchen equipment. Cable television Service, telephone and internet service is also provided by the Church. The parsonage is within walking distance of bus transportation. The parsonage is also close to the ferry service (early morning and late afternoon only), gas station and restaurants, and if a golfer very close to Port Royal golf course. The parsonaqels also within walking distance of Whale Bay beach. A car is provided. -Maintenance provided by Church. Ministry Personnel Description ( Profile 4-6) PROFILE 4 - POSITION DESCRIPTION FOR MINISTER' Due to our financial position, diminishing numbers of congregants, and resultant diminishing revenue stream, EmmanuehMethodist Churth will almost certainly be seeking the services of a retired supply, or a dart-time minister. The principal areas of responsibility for the applicant would be: Preaching and presiding over the Sacraments; in consultation with the Spiritual Interest committee, the organist and the volunteer secretary,

PROFILE 5 - SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED of Ministry Personnel Firstly the applicant must have a strong faith in God and a thorough knowledge of the Bible and a vision for the future led by the Holy Spirit. The applicant must have the proper qualifications as an Ordained Minister (preferably from within the United Church of Canada) or an equivalent qualification. The applicant must possess a pleasant and friendly personality, communicating first with God in prayer, demonstrating trust and reliance on Him and secondly with the people demonstrating a desire for unity and participation. The applicant ~~()u!d have experience with multi-generational and mufti-racial congregations, in particular with seniors. The applicant must have the ability to interact with a multi-racial congregation and a willingness to become immersed in the cultural diversity of Bermudf' and to weave these differences into the presented message. He or she must listen to the people to have a greater awareness and accountability to the congregation. The applicant must be skilful with the ability to "get the message across" Preaching skills must promote the relating of the message to the community in which we live. The applicant must have good administrative skills and be computer literate. He or she must also have good time management skills to work with time constraints. PROFILE 6 - TERMS THAT MAY BE OFFERED I I The following list includes the basic terms of employment which would be offered to the minister.

7 Salary would be paid commensurate with the 2016 Salary Schedule of the United Church :of Canada. Pension to be paid commensurate with salary.. Health Insurance paid at 50%. Appropriate housinq and automobile will be provided.
