1 ABOUT THE CONTRIBUTORS BRIAN PESSARO writes on Catholic life and spirituality from Tallahassee, Florida, where he lives with his wife and two children. ELIZABETH WIRTH is the former managing editor of Re:Generation Quarterly. A freelance writer and full-time mother, she lives in Massachusetts with her husband, Karl, and their three children. PATRICK STILL writes occasionally on Catholic topics. He lives in the Midwest, somewhere along the Mississippi River. ANNA BROADWAY holds an M.A. in religious studies and is the author of the forthcoming memoir Sexless in the City (Random House, 2008), based on her blog of the same name. Her writing has appeared in Beliefnet, Radiant, Paste, Relevant, and other print and web publications. She lives near San Francisco, California, and is the only non- Catholic contributor in the book. 2 Faith at the Edge DAVID MORRISON is a reporter and writer based in the Washington, DC, area. A former gay activist, he is the author of Beyond Gay (OSV, 1999). In addition to writing and speaking on Christian discipleship, chastity, and same-sex attraction, Morrison has reported on topics such as aquaculture, international trade, financial regulation, and human rights. He is also the founder of Courage Online, a moderated support community of people living with same-sex attraction. A convert to Catholicism, David is the godfather to two beautiful children in Northern Virginia. JESSICA GRIFFITH has written for Elle, Crisis, Notre Dame Magazine, Image, Creative Nonfiction, and many other publications. She received her M.F.A. in creative writing from the University of Pittsburgh. She lives in southern Virginia with her husband David and her daughter Charlotte. PAULA HUSTON is currently working on a book about forgiveness for Paraclete Press. She is the author of By Way of Grace: Moving from Faithfulness to Holiness and The Holy Way: Practices for a Simple Life (Loyola Press). She is also the co-editor of Signatures of Grace: Catholic Writers on the Sacraments. Her website is MATTHEW LICKONA writes regularly on assorted subjects for the the San Diego Reader, a weekly newspaper, and is the author of Swimming with Scapulars: True Confessions of a Young Catholic (Loyola Press). She holds a master s degree and a licentiate from the John Paul II Institute for Studies on Marriage and Family, and lives in McGraw, New York, with her husband Mark and their six children. REBECCA ROBINSON writes from Richmond, Virginia, where she explores the line between truth and fiction and awaits the birth of her first child. 4 Faith at the Edge MARION MAENDEL was raised at the Bruderhof, now known as Church Communities International. After several years with the Houston Catholic Worker, she studied classical philosophy and theology with the monks of the Brothers of St. John in Laredo, Texas. During her year and a half stay there, she was baptized into the Catholic Church. She lives in Houston with her husband, Andres, and their son, Dominic. AUSTEN IVEREIGH is a journalist whose writing has appeared in the Guardian, the Spectator, and numerous other publications. He was coordinator for the Da Vinci Code Response Group and the Strangers into Citizens campaign, in England. He is former deputy editor of the Catholic weekly, The Tablet, and former director for Public Affairs of the Archbishop of Westminster, Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O Connor. JOHN JALSEVAC recently graduated from Christendom College in Virginia with a B.A. in philosophy and a minor in theology. He was editor of his college journal, The Rambler, and has written and professionally published hundreds of articles, mostly for LifeSiteNews, where he served as an assistant editor. He is planning on pursuing his doctorate in clinical psychology. 192

5 HAROLD FICKETT is the author of novels, biographies, and works of spirituality, including The Holy Fool, The Living Christ, and Dancing with the Divine.
