2 An Invitation: Is God Calling You? Lent is a time for getting closer to God through sacrifice and prayer. The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius have provided a way to deepen our prayer and reflection for over 500 years. Many who embrace and practice the Exercises find that the meditation and reflection provide a sense of peace that leads to stronger personal relationships, better decisionmaking, and a closer connection to God. Our Ignatian Spirituality group has been providing an introduction to the Exercises through Lightworks this Lent, with our program running through March 13 (Christ as a Model for our Conversion). Each session begins with a talk, followed by a small group session to learn the basics of Ignatian meditation. All sessions will be held in the Loughry Room beginning at 3:00 p.m. and ending by 4:30. Please consider joining us today. To learn more, please us at Runzim@yahoo.com. 2 The Lord Has Done Great Things for Us Joyfully and peacefully attend to all things in life as the child you are secure in the Father s love. things for, with, in and through people each and every day of our lives. 8 Faith Formation Dear Parishioner, Throughout the last two years, our school community has seen much growth: in the programs offered, in the resources used, in service outreach from our students, and in enrollment. As our community con- and academic programs while planning for our future. In order to maintain the mindset of continuous improvement while planning for our future, St. Joseph Catholic School is in the process of creating a Long-Range Strategic Plan. Driven by the vision of students, staff, parents, parishioners, and community members, a Long-Range Strategic Plan will result in a common purpose, a common sense of direction, priorities for change, and a blueprint for action. It will also help us recognize traditions and values that we want to see maintained. As we move forward with our Long-Range Strategic Plan, we are asking all staff, parents, a random sample of students, parishioners, and community members to participate in an online survey. This survey focuses around six key areas: Catholic rollment. To complete the survey, which should take about 15 minutes, please visit our school website ( In addition to giving your input via the online survey, we invite you to participate as a member of our Long-Range Strategic tion regarding the future of St. Joseph Catholic School in our six focus areas. If you wish to serve on a focus group, please visit - and Grounds, and Marketing and Enrollment. Attendance at both evening sessions is required in order to fully collaborate on by the end of April confirming attendance.) The Strategic Planning process can only be successful with the input of our students, staff, parents, parishioners, and community members. Thank you for taking the time to give your input via the online survey. Additionally, I want to thank you, working with you. Together, we will continue to provide an environment where our students learn in mind, body and spirit while also planning for our future.
