1 Integrated Ministries for Ethnic Minorities Foundation (IMEMF) November, 2016 Update Kim's Comments November is my birthday month, and I have had several special celebrations, including one with the House of Love kids. November also makes me more aware of being thankful, probably because of the American holiday Thanksgiving falling in this month. Recently at one of our evening worship times, the House of Love (HOL) family was asked to say one thing that God had done for them that made them thankful. I was touched that everyone said that they were grateful for the opportunity to live at the HOL. Then, I had an added bit of thankfulness when I was translating letters for our sponsors. I have included a portion of a letter written by one of our students who recently came to the House of Love. Thank you for giving me this opportunity to continue my studies--i am very happy to be able to study again. I am a girl who thought that I would never have the opportunity to wear a school uniform again. At the House of Love I am able to live with others in unity. I am now a member of a big, loving family-a new experience for me. It's like I have brothers and sisters; and the staff are like loving parents who show me the correct way when I chose the wrong way.

2 I never had someone help to teach me what is right until I came to the House of Love. Thank you very much for supporting me so that I can have dreams about the future. I now have dreams that I believe can come true. Before I felt that I only had dreams that would never come true. Before coming here I did not have the opportunity to study further, but you have given me the opportunity to dream again. All by myself I cannot fulfill my dreams, but if we walk together I can have hope again. The Bible tells Christians to be thankful in all circumstances, and I have seen our HOL family do just that. I hope you find yourself being a more thankful person this month! Financial Notes International Ministries has started the process of finding candidates for a replacement for Kim as she starts planning for retirement. This is generally a 2 to 3 year process. We covet your prayers and continued financial support as Kim serves out her last few years of service in Thailand. Thanksgiving I am thankful that our House of Love (HOL) students are off to a good start with their second semester classes. I can tell that each one was refreshed by the good October school break, as each one seems ready to tackle studies. Please be praying for them to be diligent-second semester is notorious for an increased workload. I am thankful that our House of Blessing (HOB) children have been blessed by having a student intern from the US for the past 4 months. Becca has helped with the English studies in our preschool program. She has also spent time and made relationships in the evening with our HOL students. She will return to the US early in December. Please pray for her for a good transition. I am thankful that the Christian Center for the Development of Persons with Disabilities (CDPD) works to have creative solutions for the educational needs of their older students. This often includes sending students to Chiang Mai to schools for the deaf or the blind. However, when these students finish their education in Chiang Mai and want to return to their home province of Mae Hong Son, there are virtually no vocational training or employment opportunities. Please be praying for CDPD director Khun Saylo as she networks with government officials to provide new opportunities for these young people. I am thankful for my fellow missionaries--i was able to attend a weekend women's retreat here in Chiang Mai with 178 other women

3 I am thankful for each person who supports the work over here in Thailand, whether through financial giving or through prayer support. I know God has called you to come alongside us, and I am thankful for your care and encouragement. The HOB children loved our intern Becca.

4 The holiday Loy Krathong comes in November, and our HOL family celebrated with floating paper lanterns.
