1 2017 Annual Report
2 Greetings Northside Brothers and Sisters! 2017 was a historical year in the life of Northside Baptist Church. As we celebrated with Brother Ken Polk and Diana as they started a new adventure in retirement, we also mourned to be letting them go. They served Northside faithfully, and this body of believers will forever be grateful for their loving service. They paved a way that will be walked proudly by many for years to come. At the end of 2017, the church voted in a new Senior Pastor, Brother David Bramble. What a blessing to have another pastor who will love and shepherd this church and we know this because he has already proved that to us for almost 20 years! How blessed Northside is to have such great shepherd care before, during and after this transition. We stand as a unified body of believers in excitment to see what God has planned for Northside in 2018 and beyond! Our Lord continues to bless Northside with the people and resources to do amazing things for His Kingdom. This report is a snapshot of God in action. The Bible tells us to make good use of what we are given, and Northside is committed to wise stewardship of every contribution we receive. This Annual Report provides a progress update on our purpose, which is listed below. As inspired by God, it is our purpose: Recognizing Jesus as the Head of the Church, upholding the Bible as His divine revelation to man, and following His example to love one another, Northside Baptist Church seeks to exalt Jesus Christ and draw others to Him by: Actively and intentionally spreading the Gospel in middle Tennessee, our nation, and the world. Cultivating a multi-generational and multi-cultural family of believers who grow together in their passion for Christ through worship, prayer, service, and fellowship. Teaching Biblical truth and discipling Christians to confidently live out their faith. Serving God through utilizing gifts, talents, resources, and shared experiences for God s glory. This report is an overview of the blessings that have been poured out upon Northside in One amazing highlight is that, through your gifts, the church debt was paid down by $283,902 this year alone. While many churches struggle as a pastor retires, the members of Northside have once again proven faithful! Northside, you have stayed committed to loving, giving, and serving your church. We thank God for you! Your gifts of tithes, offerings, and service to Northside throughout 2017 are gratefully acknowledged. Because of your contributions, our congregation has been able to support the work of Jesus Christ locally, regionally, and around the world. Not to us, LORD, not to us but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness. (Psalm 115:1) These are exhilarating times in the life of our church. Our community is growing rapidly and we, as a body of believers, need to ready ourselves to reach out to those newcomers in our circles of influence with the love of Christ. We need to pray and diligently be proactive in reaching out and opening the Word to our World. As things change around us, we are reminded of Hebrews 13:8, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. The purpose of our fellowship is to bring Jesus to the world. A true secret to the ministry of Northside is and has been the amazing volunteers, some often behind the scenes serving faithfully for years. Those volunteers are serving with the love of Christ in their hearts to see the world won for Him and all the Glory to God. Pray and seek where you will serve, where you will go, and to whom you will share the Gospel of Christ with this year.
