Although this wasn t the largest class I ve had over the years, it certainly stands out to me as being one of the better groups. Right from the beginning there was a genuine unity and care for one another that is not common among a group of new students. During our class times there were little things that stood out. Two of the students were not familiar enough with their Bibles to be able to look up scriptures and keep up with the teachings. Starting out, the faster students would call out the page number where a scripture was located so that these students could keep up. After teaching the lessons on Baptism and commitment, two of the students, Rose and Samson, each confessed that although they had been baptised before they had done it without understanding what it was about, and that their motives were misplaced. So one morning, together with staff and students, we were able to have a wonderful baptism service. Another big blessing we saw happen was with passports. In order to move into the second phase of our training, Discipleship Training School (DTS), the students must have their passports. This is not an easy task for the average young person in Haiti. Three out the five students had nothing to even start the process with, such as birth certificate and other documents. But as we gave opportunity for them to pursue those documents, little by little they were able to succeed. And through a generous donations from a church group in North Palm, we were able to help them, once they did their part of obtaining documents, to submit and pay the fee for all of them to get their passports. Right now the applications are in the Immigration office. All of them should have their passports in hand by the end of July. On July 6th, four of the students: Rose, Jeff, Wadner and Kelmelo have entered the second phase of training, DTS, along with five other foreign students. The fifth student, Samson, is going back to serve in his home church, working with the young people and sharing what he learned in FCC. I ask for your prayers for our next FCC class, which is scheduled to start in September. July and August is going to be full of activity in preparation. I will be speaking in some local churches and conducting interviews. We are also in the prayer process of looking at some new possibilities with the FCC program. Extra locations, housing to accommodate students who are not from the area, etc. We ll let you know more as things develop. Right now we need God s wisdom. BAPTISM SAMSON S BAPTISM ROSE S BAPTISM During the prayer for the students who had been baptized, different staff members came up on the celebration and just stuck their hands out in prayer. It was such a precious time. It so great to be a part of a group of people, who will stop in their normal activity and pray.

3 A LITTLE BIT OF FRUIT! Earlier this year, in March, I had the priviledge of participating in the Ordination service for Delson. I first met Delson in 2007 when he began to translate for Shelly in Kid s Church. He later went through the FCC classes, and then translated several times for me in other FCC classes. Over the years he has attended and completed classes at a local Bible School and served under a local pastor, Pastor Cherices. All of this in preparation for him to be ordained by Pastor Cherices. He has now been released and has started a small church consisting of people who he has led to the Lord during his weekly evangelism outreaches. All of the members of his church are new believers and don t quite fit in at other local churches. Delson has asked me to help him by teaching his congregation a basic discipleship class on Thursday nights. So please be praying for me as I step into this new area. sure he was going to last, but what I saw was a man who consistently sought change in his life. He has been humble in seeking the Lord and being obedient when God shows him something that needs to change. He is also humble in asking for help. He is constantly looking to learn more, and go deeper. He is also a hard worker. He and his wife have just had their 5th child, and Delson works hard to make a living for his family, as well as, doing evangelism in our city every week, translating for us in our Wednesday night services and in Kid s Church on Sunday night, and doing 2 services in his own church on Sundays. Recently I tried to release him from Kid s Church so that he could pursue the things God has for him with his own congregation, but he said, No Madame Freeman, I want to stay with Kid s Church because I learn a lot and it helps me with teaching my own congregation. So for now he continues with me. Now I m going to turn things over to Shelly and let her share what is going on with the family and Kid s Church... Well, first let me share my view of Delson...When Delson first came to work in Kid s Church, I wasn t too Please keep him in prayer. Although, I just shared that he and his wife have had a new baby, their marriage and family situation is not good. His wife is not a christian and she really needs Jesus. I know he would appreciate all prayer for his wife and family, and for the ministry God has given him.

I HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO TEACH TWICE AND BOTH TIMES I WAS BLESSED BY THE RESPONSIVENESS OF THE STUDENTS. AND BY THEIR ATTITUDE WHEN FACED WITH CHALLENGES. FOR EXAMPLE, WHEN THEY WERE TOLD THEY NEEDED TO GET THEIR PAPERWORK TOGETHER FOR THEIR PASSPORTS, THERE WAS NONE OF THE USUAL COMPLAINING ABOUT NOT BEING ABLE TO, OR NOT HAVING THE MONEY TO DO IT, THEY PRESSED FORWARD AND DID WHAT THEY NEEDED TO DO AND AS A RESULT IT WAS SUCH A BLESSING TO BE ABLE TO THEN HELP WITH THE FINAL FINANCES AND PROCESS. THEY ALSO ALL PAID FOR THEIR FCC, WHICH IS A FIRST. THEY WERE JUST A SPECIAL GROUP ALL THE WAY AROUND. The FCC planting trees around the YWAM Campus Kid s Church Review Sunday. During the Summer we are doing outdoor games every other Sunday. The object is to win the game, and then be able to answer a review question from the previous week s lesson.

THEY WERE BOTH INVOLVED LAST YEAR, AND IT WAS FUN FOR THEM TO SEE SOME OF THE KIDS FROM LAST YEAR COMING TO THE AUDITIONS FOR THIS YEAR S CAMP. THERE WILL BE 2 CAMPS THIS SUMMER. THE FIRST IS MADE UP OF PREVIOUS DANCE CAMP STUDENTS AND THE SECOND WILL BE BRAND NEW STUDENTS. CALEB STEPPED OUT THIS MONTH AND SHARED FOR THE FIRST TIME IN OUR WEDNESDAY NIGHT CHURCH SERVICE. SPECIAL THANK YOU TO LISA LUMPKIN IN OKEECHOBEE, FL FOR PROVIDING THE TOUCH OF LIFE FETAL MODELS. THEY WERE AN INCREDIBLE TOOL AND HELP WITH THE GIRLS THIS PAST WEEK!!! Some final words... I m so excited about this week s group of girls. All but one of them is 12 years old, the other is 13. One thing became clear as we prayed with each of the girls last week and that is many of them have some very deep wounds, and many of those wounds began right around the age of 12. So please be praying for this new group this week. Hopefully we can instill some truth in them before bad things happen, or at least be able to deal with them now, and not several years from now. And thank you so much for praying for last week s group. I was surprised by how open they were, and how genuinely hungry they were to hear the truth. They all came saying they had no idea why God created women, and they walked away with a much better understanding of why and how they were created. They also decided they would like to continue meeting once a month...exciting stuff!! Also, thank you for all your prayers these last 2 months. We are seeing new things develop, old things renewed, and we all have a renewed sense of purpose. With much love, The Nettles Family
