We have been in our new home now almost three months. The girls are happy to have their own bedrooms for the very first me! Our classroom is up and running as well, so hopefully our homeschool can get into a bit of a rou ne a er all this me of everchanging loca ons. We have a few big things le to do on the house, s ll no hot water or electricity. Hea ng water in a big pot in the fireplace works great and so do bucket baths, for now... We use a generator every night for electricity, which is fine for now, but not a sustainable long term solu on. We enjoy the beau ful house and surroundings; it is gradually becoming home to us. We also now have 12 chickens, 5 rabbits (with a fair chance of increase!), a goat with two brand new babies and two ducks that were just given to us. A small vegetable garden supplies us with tomatoes,

2 le uce, carrots and hopefully much more with me.

3 Traveling and Ministry Sports Discipleship School: In April we had the sports school in Zambia, our old home. 23 students showed up on a Monday afternoon, making a three hour hike through the bush to find the campsite. It was a week set up for team building and effective team leading. Most of these students are sports coaches looking to use sports as a tool for ministry. They ranged from years of age and came from 6 different countries. The diverse cultures and languages add to the challenge and excitement. The Cross is a vital part of the week. After several days of Missions Week: I had the privilege to speak in a mission school in the capital city, Dar es Salaam, for a week in June. These students are taught all sorts of things; fish farming, gardening, preaching, missions, culture, etc. My week was on The Lordship of Christ in all areas of life. We had a blast. Many of these students will be working in some difficult places, going to the unreached. I will be going back again to teach in October. Maasai Conference:

4 exciting activities and challenging sermons, I got the opportunity to baptize 7 of the participants. Seeing some of these young people come to a place of brokenness before the Lord and each other made for a great week. My prayer is that this continues and follows them back in their countries. Mini Men s conference: I was also asked to speak at a men s retreat around the same time we were in Zambia. Between some great times of outdoor adventures, I shared with the men, many of whom were worn out from life and nearing burnout, which I was able to speak into and minister to. A great three days. I was reminded during this retreat that many of us try so hard to live For Christ and miss the In Christ. The For Christ will wear us out spiritually. It is the In Christ that nourishes our spirit, it is the In Christ that carries anointing and authority. But most of us fail to go there. If this is you, I encourage you to live In Christ ; then you can begin to love people again and love what you do. I went to a 7-day conference with the Maasai a few weeks ago. On average about four thousand were there but the last days we numbered around ten thousand! These weeks are also spent visiting different chiefs. The senior chief over about 50,000 plus Maasai publically gave his life to the Lord in front of the crowd. I shared the pulpit with other speakers. A friend came from the States and together we prayed and laid hands on thousands of people. The following week, many of their elders of a very large area of the Maasai got together under a big tree and discussed the conference week. We then received a call that they want to start serving the Lord as a people. Please come, they said and tell us more and teach us; we are ready tomorrow. Well, tomorrow will be some other time, but it is so great to actually be a part of a whole nation making a decision for the Lord! Two Girls: We were also able to help two Maasai girls escape from some not so good situations. We connected them to YWAM here in TZ and it seems to have really worked out great for them. Ethiopia: Ethiopia, a country so rich in history and beauty that goes back thousands of years. I have just returned from two weeks there; working with Yared, my Ethiopian friend.

I met this man of God 16 years ago when I was walking the streets of Addis Ababa. I have been back to Ethiopia speaking in DTS s and churches over the years. This time Yared hosted not only me but a team from New York; a great group, lots of ministry and lots of fun. We travelled up north where persecution of the evangelical church is a part of life. Persecution of the Christians, not only from the Muslim community but also from the Orthodox Church. The day before we left I met a pastor who was just released from jail after being beaten and told by Orthodox elders to leave the community and stop preaching the gospel. Please remember our brothers and sisters who really do go through much persecution for their faith! Let us all stand with them in prayer.

Family Visits: My brother and his son Luke came out from the States for a few weeks in June. Good to see my brother back in Africa after almost 40 years.

6 Family Visits: My brother and his son Luke came out from the States for a few weeks in June. Good to see my brother back in Africa after almost 40 years. That sounds like a long time, 40 years; I guess we are getting old (Many of you know that we grew up as missionary kids in Liberia, West Africa.) Jette s sister and family from Norway also came out for several weeks which was a great time. Their little girl Elisabeth, 6 years old, speaks in a cute Norwegian accent. Jette s parents will be coming out in August to actually work with their old mission for three months. They will be about a 20 minute drive from us so it will be nice to have them around for a while.
