Baptism: Parents are required to meet with priest prior to baptism. Funeral: Please consult the parish priest for funeral services. 1st Holy Communion is celebrated yearly with one prior year of religious education required. Confirmation is celebrated every two years. It is a two year program & students must attend both years to be Confirmed. Rite of Christian Initiation is a yearly program beginning in September. 3 Adult Formation: The RCIA team is sharing the Symbolon video series on the 4th Thursday of each month. Everyone in the parish is invited to join them to learn more about our Catholic faith. Contact our RCIA team (John & Carolyn Davied, Michelle Giesy or Lori Puckett) for more information. RE Teachers/Helpers Still Needed: Scranton still needs volunteers to teach/help for 3rd & 5th grades. Please prayerfully consider becoming one of our Religious Education teachers this year. Mission Appeal: Next Sunday, Sister Andrea with the Sisters of St. Francis will be in our parishes for the annual mission appeal. Please welcome her to our parishes! Catechesis of the Good Shepherd: Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is a handson method of faith formation based on the Montessori method of learning. It beautifully incorporates parables and scripture readings from the Bible and the fundamental teaching of our Catholic Faith. If you have a child between the ages of 3-6 and would like more information about the CGS, please contact the office. VIRTUS training is required for all volunteers who work with our youth. It is a training that can benefits all parents & grandparents. If you are interested in attending a training session near us, here are the dates, times & locations. Server Training & Appreciation: There will be server training and appreciation meal on Saturday, August 27 at 6:00 PM at Osage City and Sunday, August 28 at 11:00 AM at Scranton. Anyone interested in learning how to serve & existing servers are asked to attend. Each location will have the same training so please attend the time that is most convenient. RADIATE SUMMER TOUR WITH CHRIS PADGETT All youth and families are welcome to join our summer tour Radiate Mercy Sunday, August 14 featuring Chris Padgett. Chris has done ministry around the country for over a decade. He strives to communicate the truth of Christ s love through his message & music. Events include family-friendly outdoor youth rally in Scipio (32292 NE Norton Rd. Garnett KS) beginning at 3:00-7:00PM. Mass will be celebrated at 6:00PM. Last summer, youths and adults joined us for inspiration, Mass, music, food, and gaga ball. We d love to welcome YOU this year! Registration is available online at Choose youth events. Meals on Wheels: August 15-19th is St. Patrick Osage City s week to serve Meals on Wheels. Volunteer Needed: St. Patrick Osage City is needing a volunteer, starting in September, to mow and weed-eat the church and rectory grounds. Please contact the office if you are interested. Janitorial Job Opening: St. Patrick Osage City is looking for a janitor for St. Brigid Hall. Pay is $12 per hour with up to 10 hours each week. Please contact the office if you are interested.

5 St. Patrick Osage City hosted an Ice Cream Social & Mini Car Show on Sunday, July 31st. Cool cars & homemade ice cream made for a wonderful afternoon. Kathy Lincoln commented on Facebook, We had a good turnout and a good time was had by all!
