4 P Let us confess our sins to God our Father, asking Him for the sake of His Son, Jesus Christ, to grant us forgiveness. C Almighty God, merciful Father, we confess to You all our sins and failings. We have not fulfilled Your Law nor have we obeyed Your commandments. We sin daily and indeed deserve nothing but Your punishment. With sorrow-filled hearts we turn to You, asking for mercy and forgiveness. In the name of our crucified and risen Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen. P God has forgiven you all your sins! Jesus Christ has taken our sin to the cross and shed His blood for our forgiveness. We have been buried with Him in Baptism and have risen with Him to new life. P Let us pray: The Day of Resurrection has dawned upon us, the day of true light and life, wherein Christ, the life of believers, arose from the dead. Let us give abundant thanks and praise to God, that while we solemnly celebrate the day of our Lord's resurrection, He may be pleased to bestow on us quiet peace and special gladness; so that being protected from morning to night by His favoring mercy, we may rejoice in the gift of our Redeemer. 11 Creedal Address P Let us share together our hope in the resurrection with these words from the Apostles' Creed: C I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty. From thence He will come to judge the living and the dead. P What does this mean for us? C I believe that Jesus Christ, true God, begotten of the Father from eternity, and also true man, born of the virgin Mary, is my Lord, who has redeemed me, a lost and condemned person, purchased and won me from all sins, from death, and from the power of the devil; not with gold or silver, but with His holy, precious blood and with His innocent suffering and death, that I may be His own and live under Him in His kingdom and serve Him in everlasting righteousness, innocence, and blessedness, just as He is risen from the dead, lives and reigns to all eternity. This is most certainly true. 10

Men s Bible Study In his book, The Applause of Heaven, Max Lucado wrote, When the psalmist wrote, You knit me together in my mother s womb. Think on those words. You were knitted together. You aren t an accident. You weren t mass produced. You aren t an assembly line product. You were deliberately planned, specifically gifted, and lovingly positioned on this earth by the Master Craftsman. For we are God s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works which God prepared in advance for us to do. Is it literal? Is it symbolic? Or is it just a bunch of pretty words? These are some of the questions we are seeking to answer as we begin our journey through Revelation; it is a revelation that we can then apply to all of Scripture.
