3 New Sunday Class begins April 8 at 9:30a, upstairs: Journey from Unbelief to Faith By: Rev. Dr. John Nunes (Includes subtitles in English) The passage from unbelief or antagonism toward God to faith in Christ as Lord and Savior is a road that's different for each person. Follow the stories of four individuals from widely dissimilar pasts that arrived at the same conviction: Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior and because He is they must tell others about it. Their s has been a pilgrimage from the outer edges of unbelief and apathy to a place where today Jesus Christ commands their heartfelt devotion. The road to faith was not easy for them, and many were the times when abandoning it seemed the preferred route to travel. Still, the persistence of the Holy Spirit's work in their lives brought about a different outcome, with an eternal transformation. Led by Melanie Hohag. 5 News from the Congo Although it is about 100⁰ in the Congo, Didi and Serafina are doing well. Their son, Enoque and his wife were visiting a couple of weeks early in March. Didi also had a visit from Dr. Obaga, who works for WMPL and lives in Germany. He will also go to Kenya on this trip. Grace is the young girl, with a son, who had a tumor removed. She is coming along in her recovery, but has no gainful employment prospects at this time. Pray that her recovery will continue to go well and she will be able to support herself and her son. We have also provided some funds for food for her and her son while she is recovering. Didi is also teaching at the Seminary and providing temporary administrative support. There is increasing unrest in the eastern part of the Congo. While it is somewhat calm in Boma, the unrest can spread very quickly. Continue to pray for the safety of Didi, Serafina and those he is helping. 11 Migrant Workers Find Comfort Every year, over 4,000 migrant farmworkers stream into the San Luis Valley to work harvest. With sporadic work, low wages, lack of family resources, and limited access to social services, migrants are a population that live close to the edge of crisis, often lacking basic resources. Hygiene kits include: -soap -shampoo/conditioner -deodorant -toothbrush -toothpaste -washcloth/towels -tampons/pads/razors (women) -razors/shaving cream (men) You can make a difference by donating one hygiene kit this year. Please leave donations in the cart in the fellowship hall. Mark them migrant bags. The Serenity Prayer God grant me the serenity to accept what I cannot change, The courage to change what I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time. Enjoying one moment at a time. Accepting hardship as the pathway to peace. Taking as Jesus did this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it. Trusting that you will make all things right, if I surrender to your will. So that I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with you forever in the next.

12 Francesca Vasta & Peter Falldorf welcomed the arrival of their new granddaughter Gineva Rose Falldorf on March 26, She weighed 7 lbs. 12 oz. and 18 3/4 long. Parents are Calvin & Lauren Falldorf. Atlas of Caregiving-A Workshop sponsored by AARP This is a free interactive workshop meant to familiarize people with creating a plan for their future. Aging comes with the increasing chance that emergencies will arise as their health deteriorates. We, as Americans take out a lot of insurance policies to prevent unpleasant surprises. In a somewhat similar way, this is a program to be activated when stuff happens. It is a free class meant to help us explore and identify all our caregiving resources particularly those that involve the folks who will give us care. Family caregiving is on the rise. The high cost of care facilities can devastate our financial resources. Also, no one says, Oh, I would really like to live out the last chapter of my life in a skilled nursing facility. We at AARP are involved in trying to address the problems encountered as we age. This program developed by the family caregiver alliance has been tested and found to be well received. As a facilitator, I have been through the program. Initially, I told state AARP that I wouldn t be a presenter, but after seeing a horror story develop in my own family, changed my mind. This needs to be shared. Workshop will be offered on April 11 from 9:30-11:30 in the fellowship hall. Call Rita Fitzpatrick at to make a reservation.
