1 Pilgrim Call Newsletter Of First Congregational Church May 28, 2014 Issue 576 Many of our students have graduated or will be graduating in the upcoming weekends. Please pray for them, and for God to guide their paths. Please pray that they can stay focused on Him, as their lives take a new direction that only God knows and understands. For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). Dear Jesus, this time of year kids of all ages graduate from kindergarten all the way to grad school. Graduation can be a time to reminisce. But graduation is also a time to look ahead toward the future to the next step on our path to further education or that new job. No matter what age we are and no matter where we are on our path of learning, please don t let us forget that this world and all it offers are nothing next to the plans you have for us. You are preparing our future a place in eternal paradise for us, not because we deserve it, but because of the perfect life you lived for us and the suffering and death you endured in our place. No matter what opportunities or challenges may be allowed to cross our path, thank you for the future you are willing to share with us. When children volunteer they learn about other cultures and people, and what it means to think about others. The first serving opportunity will be on June 10th for children 12 & under, and they must be accompanied by an adult. It will run from 2:00-6:00, but you can only volunteer for up to one hour. Various tasks that you can choose from include: sort makeup, bag homemade soaps, fill bottles with homemade dish soap, plant flowers & lettuce, & count Easter baskets & grass. Scholarship For Ricky Aguilar Ricky Aguilar, an intern at the Hope House, has been attending First Congo since he started his internship with Urban Outreach & Bridges last fall. We have grown to love Ricky s enthusiasm and love for the Lord, as he has served among the non-profit organizations here in Kokomo. He is planning to pursue his masters in Marriage and Family Therapy at Wheaton College this fall. We would like to support him by contributing to a scholarship fund that will be administered by Kokomo Urban Outreach. If you would like to contribute, you can write a check to Kokomo Urban Outreach (not to Ricky), and mark on the memo line K-Serve Scholarship Fund-Ricky Aguilar. They will mail a check directly to Wheaton College in his name. Thank you in advance for your generosity.
