The altar flowers are placed in the sanctuary today to the glory of God and in celebration of Charles and Awanda Davis 29 th Wedding Anniversary. SAFE SANCTUARIES REMINDER... As a part of Triplett s Safe Sanctuaries policy, children and youth under the age of 18 are asked not to leave the sanctuary during the worship service unless accompanied by an adult. ***CHILDREN S CHURCH... Please remember that Children s Church is for ages 3 thru 2 nd grade. Third graders and up are asked to remain in the sanctuary with their parents. UMY... Middle School/High School Youth will meet today at 2:45 pm to go to The Pit. Bring $$$ for supper. Activities at The Pit will come out of your individual accounts. Confirmands will meet for a snack supper at 5:30 pm and then will meet upstairs in the last room on the left. PRAISE BAND PRACTICE... will take place this afternoon at 4:00 pm in the Sanctuary. EASTER CANDY & EGGS... There is a collection bin in the Narthex for candy and plastic eggs for the Easter Egg Hunt. All donations are greatly appreciated. UMW GENERAL MEETING... will be held on Tuesday, March 3 rd at 7:00 pm. Linda Young will be our guest. She is the Parliamentarian for the Metro District. HALFTIME... will meet again on Wednesday, March 4 th at 5:45 pm. TRINITY UMC BBQ... We would like to invite everyone that would like to go to Trinity UMC for their delicious BBQ on Thursday, March 5 th at 11:00 am. If we can get a group together, we will take the bus or the van. Please sign up on the bulletin board across from the office or let Pastor Auten or Linda Ketchie know if you would like to go. TRUSTEES... will meet on Thursday, March 5 th at 7:00 pm. REACHING & TEACHING CHILDREN & YOUTH... All children and youth Sunday School teachers, Halftime workers, Children s Church workers, Youth counselors, and members who would like to learn about working with our programs, are invited to join us on Saturday, March 7 th from 10:00 am until 12:30 pm. Jenny Reilly and Sarah Davis will bring new and exciting ideas for our ministries. A sign up sheet is posted on the bulletin board. REMINDER: Turn your clocks ahead one hour before going to bed on Saturday, March 7 th. Daylight Saving Time begins on Sunday, March 8 th. EASTER BASKETS FOR BARIUM SPRINGS... Once again this year, we will be providing Easter baskets for the kids who are residents of the Home for Children. An Easter Egg tree will be in the Narthex on Sunday, March 8 th loaded with paper eggs for adoption. Please choose an egg from the tree, purchase the items listed, place them in an Easter Basket and return the baskets by Sunday, March 29 th. Please remember to attach the paper egg to the basket when you return them. Thanks for your continuing support of this important mission.
2 UMW EXECUTIVE MEETING... will be held on Monday, March 9 th at 7:00 pm. FINANCE COMMITTEE... will be held on Tuesday, March 10 th at 7:00 pm. GOLDEN TRIPPERS... will meet on Thursday, March 12 th at 11:30 am in the Fellowship Hall. Meatloaf and Veggies are on the menu. Please bring the sides you signed up for at the last meeting. Our entertainment will be provided by The Hat Lady. Please join us, and don t forget to wear green so you don t get pinched! UMW DISTRICT MISSION STUDY... will be held Saturday, March 14 th at Blaire UMC in Mint Hill, N.C. The study is on the church and people with disabilities. Presenter is Beverly Maulden of Mount Mitchell UMC. The Hands on Mission is new shoes and socks for children in Armenia. Cost is $7.50. Please give your money to Dawn Arnette before March 4 th. UMM BREAKFAST... will be held on Sunday, March 15 th at 7:30 am. UMW SUNDAY: will be held on Sunday, March 15 th. Michelene Mathews is the guest speaker. She is the President of the Metro District. Plan now to join us for this special time of ministry. A SPECIAL OFFERING... On Sunday, March 15 th, an offering will be taken for One Great Hour of Sharing. Your generous gift to the One Great Hour of Sharing offering helps cover the operating expenses of UMCOR and allows 100% of your designated donations to get to those who need them most. ADMINISTRATIVE COUNCIL... will meet on Tuesday, March 17 th at 7:00 pm. NEWSLETTER DEADLINE... Saturday, March 21 st. VBS WORK DAY AT ST. THERESE... Can you believe it s already time to prepare for Vacation Bible School? If you would like to help work on decorations like painting, crafts, laminating posters and more, please let Wanda Corriher or Linda Ketchie know. The work day is Sunday, March 22 nd at 3:00 pm. EASTER EGG HUNT... Our Annual Hunt will take place on Saturday, March 28 th from 2-4 pm. There will be Bible stories, crafts, games, refreshments and of course, a Super Duper Easter Egg hunt!! All kids up to 5 th grade are invited!! Please sign up on the Kid s Ministry bulletin board. EASTER EGG HUNT HELPERS... We would love to have your help with our annual egg hunt and there are lots of volunteer opportunities available! We need Kitchen helpers, Egg Hunt leaders and helpers, Games leaders and helpers, Bible stories room leaders and helpers and crew leaders to shepherd the kids around. Check out the sign up sheet on the Kid s Ministry bulletin board and sign up today!! WOMEN S RETREAT: The 14th Annual Women s Retreat will once again be held at Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina. The dates for the retreat are Thursday, April 23 Sunday, April 26th. The house sleeps 18 and is wheelchair and handicapped accessible. Sign up today on the bulletin board across from the office. More details to follow. Come join us!!! UMW LOCAL HANDS ON MISSION... During the month of March, we are partnering with the Mooresville Soup Kitchen. We will be collecting paper products. A collection box is in the Narthex. FOR SALE - BUS GARAGE: Our new activity building has been designed to house our buses and van. This added shelter will be located at the end of the building which faces our existing driveway, therefore our present garage is no longer necessary. If you or someone you know is interested in this building, please turn in a sealed bid to the church office. Bids will be accepted through April 15 th. The highest bidder will assume total responsibility for removing the shelter from the church property.
3 PANTRY NEEDS: Beanie Weinees, Beef-a-Roni, Spaghettio s, Ravioli, Soups, Spaghetti Noodles & Spaghetti Sauce. CARDS...Carl Brown is home from the hospital, but instead of visits, his daughter, Kim, said he would appreciate receiving cards from everyone. His address is 1095 Mount Ulla Hwy., Mooresville, NC AMERICAN RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE: Until about 3 years ago, we hosted a blood drive twice a year. Due to decreased donors, we were dropped as a host. We plan to host another drive sometime in June if there is enough interest. If you would be a possible donor for this very important gift, please sign the sheet on the bulletin board and also note the best day of the week for you. We need to have at least 30 potential donors to host. BUSY BAGS FOR KIDS... Sometimes it s hard for adults to sit still in church, so you know it can be really hard for kids. We ve prepared some busy bags containing coloring books, blank paper, crayons and copies of Pockets to help with the wiggles. The bags will be located in the Narthex on a table.
