2 BAPTISM PREPARATION CLASS The next Baptism Preparation Class is on Thursday, December 13 at 6:00 p.m. in the Church. Please register by calling the office at CONFIRMATION CLASS SCHEDULE The next set of Confirmation classes are on Thursdays, November 22 & 29, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the Church. Please call the office to register. Those taking this set of classes will celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation on Saturday, January 5, BIBLE STUDY GROUP The next session is on Tuesday, November 20 from 7 to 8 p.m. It is held in the St. Eugene Boardroom. The dates will be on the monthly calendar. Everyone is welcome. We will be reflecting on one passage from the bible each week. For the November 20 th session we will discuss Concerning Anger (Matthew 5: 21-26). Concerning Anger (Matthew 5: 21-26) You have heard that it was said to those of ancient times, You shall not murder ; and whoever murders shall be liable to judgement. But I say to you that if you are angry with a brother or sister, you will be liable to judgement; and if you insult a brother or sister, you will be liable to the council; and if you say, You fool, you will be liable to the hell of fire. So when you are offering your gift at the altar, if you remember that your brother or sister has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar and go; first be reconciled to your brother or sister, and then come and offer your gift. Come to terms quickly with your accuser while you are on the way to court with him, or your accuser may hand you over to the judge, and the judge to the guard, and you will be thrown into prison. Truly I tell you, you will never get out until you have paid the last penny. ST. PAUL PRAYER GROUP The next St. Paul Prayer Group session will be on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 from 7 to 8 p.m. The St. Paul Prayer Group is held in the St. Eugene Boardroom on alternate Tuesday s (alternate to the Bible Study Sessions). Everyone is welcome. CHILDRENS PROGRAM Children from the ages of 6 years old and 12 years old are invited to attend the Children s Program every Sunday during the 11:30 a.m. Mass. A team of four people have agreed to take on this endeavor. They are: Candida Shepherd, Hilarie Fortune, Brother Eugene and Florence Large. The Children s Program will take place in the St. Eugene Boardroom until such time an appropriate space can be used in the basement. They will be escorted at 11:30 AM to the session and will return to the Mass before the Eucharist. Bring your child/children to the entrance area before Mass starts. A schedule of topics and activities will be made available to the parents upon registering your child. ALTAR SERVER WORKSHOP We are looking for youth between ages to join our Altar Server ministry. This is one of the most important Ministries of the church and is a wonderful way for our youth to give service to our parish and to learn more about the meaning of the mass! Any young people wishing to join please contact the office ( ) to register your child. GARAGE SALE The next Garage Sale is on Saturday and Sunday, November 24 th & 25 th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. We are now accepting donations for the sale. Please drop them off any Monday Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. After this sale, we will not be able to accept any donations until in the New Year due to all our Christmas activities. Thank you for your generous donations!

VOLUNTEERS: Gift sorting Hall decorations and setting up Party registrations (assisting on phones in the rectory to register children) **Note: Only children in attendance will receive a gift. FOOD HAMPERS Please call the office ( ) to register for a hamper. Pick up of Hampers is available for those who can all day on Friday, December 14, 2018 (This helps us) Deliveries: Saturday, December 15, 2018 DONATIONS: VOLUNTEERS: Non-perishable food items (please contact the office for a list of recommended items) Turkeys (fresh or frozen as we have freezers) Money donations: (Items for the food hampers will be purchased with the money donated) Sorting food Organizing hampers Hamper registrations (assisting on phones in the rectory to register for hampers) Drivers for delivery on December 15 th We would like to ask Sacred Heart Parishioners for your support for these two Christmas events. We are looking for donations and volunteers for this much needed ministry!

4 Call to Protect Training For those volunteers at Sacred Heart Church of The First Peoples who have missed the Call to Protect Training program; you can attend at one of the following parishes. You do not need to register but when you attend be sure to register at the session and the information will be forwarded to Sacred Heart Church. Christopher Council Memorial Mass A Memorial Mass for all deceased members of the Christopher Council will be held at St. Matthew s Parish at 7 p.m. pm on Monday, November 26; followed by a social. Everyone is welcome. Starlight Shine-On Campaign Event Star of the North Retreat Centre invites you to attend Starlight, Shine-On, a capital campaign fundraising event. Special guest speaker: Fr. Ron Rolheiser, OMI. Friday, Novermber 30, St Albert Parish Hall, $75/person. Doors open 5:30 p.m. Register: online: Phone: Filipino Simbang Gabi Mass 2018 The Filipino group of our parish will be celebrating a special mass called Simbang Gabi which is a traditional mass of devotion to prepare for the coming of Christ at Christmas time. The Simbang Gabi 2018 mass will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church of The First Peoples. All are welcome to join us at the mass. Fellowship with Filipino snacks and hot beverages to follow in St. Kateri Hall. Our Lady of Guadalupe Presentation Everyone is welcome to attend a special presentation about Our Lady of Guadalupe on Tuesday, November 27 at 7 p.m. in St. Kateri Hall. Topic: Sharing on the Significance of Our Lady of Guadalupe (By Graydon Nicholas) Graydon Nicholas will speak about the apparitions of Our Lady of Guadalupe to Saint Juan Diego between December 9-12, 1531 in Mexico City. He has been doing this enterprise since the summer of Each summer since 2006, he has arranged for the Missionary Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe for Canada, which is based in Edmonton to be in New Brunswick. He has visited many communities in the Maritimes, Quebec and Ontario to share the beautiful story. He calls himself Our Lady s Chauffeur. He and his wife have a deep devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe. Graydon Nicholas Graydon was born and raised on the Tobique First Nation. He is a graduate from St. Francis Xavier University (BSc, 1968), UNB Law School (1971) and Wilfrid Laurier University (MSW, 1974). He has been a Provincial Court Judge ( ), Lieutenant-Governor of NB ( ). He is currently employed at STU in the Endowed Chair of Native Studies. He and his wife, Beth, have two sons and two grandchildren. As a couple, they are members of the Christian Life Communities (CLC) of Canada, based on Saint Ignatius, since This spirituality is based on daily meditation on scripture and decision-making based on discernment of God s plan in their lives. They are also dedicated to Our Lady of Guadalupe. They are members of the Advisory Board of the NB Right to Life. Graydon joined the Knights of Columbus Council 1942 on June 24, He is a Fourth Degree member. He was elected on the Supreme Board of the Knights of Columbus in 2015 for a three year term.

5 SUNDAY READINGS: Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe November 25, 2018 First Reading: (Daniel ) I had a dream and visions as I lay in bed. As I watched in the night visions, I saw one like a son of man coming with the clouds of heaven. And he came to the One who is Ancient of Days and was presented before him. To him was given dominion and glory and kingship, that all peoples, nations and languages should serve him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that shall not pass away, and his kingship is one that shall never be destroyed. Second Reading: (Revelation ) Jesus Christ is the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us and freed us from our sins by his blood, and made us to be a kingdom, priests serving his God and Father, to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. Look! He is coming with the clouds; every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and on his account all the tribes of the earth will lament. So it is to be. Amen. I am the Alpha and the Omega, says the Lord God, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty. Gospel: (John b - 37) Pilate asked Jesus, Are you the King of the Jews? Jesus answered, Do you ask this on your own, or did others tell you about me? Pilate replied, I am not a Jew, am I? Your own nation and the chief priests have handed you over to me. What have you done? Jesus answered, My kingdom is not from this world. If my kingdom were from this world, my followers would be fighting to keep me from being handed over to the Jews. But as it is, my kingdom is not from here. Pilate asked him, So you are a king? Jesus answered, You say that I am a king. For this I was born, and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to my voice.
