ATTENTION SNOWBIRDS! If you are a snowbird this year, please be sure to let the office know if you want your envelopes held until your return. If you prefer, you can mail in your contributions during your time away. ALL SOULS DAY WISDOM!: Because we are living beings and every life comes to an end; because we are Christians and strongly believe that human life does not end in death; that there is life after death; because many of our loved ones have gone to the great beyond, and we are not really sure where they are, heaven or purgatory; because we ourselves are not perfect and we are not sure what awaits us beyond the Sea; we need to do ourselves some favor! We need to resolve to pray for our departed loved ones, whom we wish to be in heaven; and for the other departed Souls; so they could be an unfailing help for us when we are dead and gone and forgotten by the world. Humans will fail you! But these Holy Souls whom you helped to make heaven, will NEVER forget you! This is the absolute merit of praying for the dead. They anxiously look forward to us besieging the heavens with our Masses and prayers on the 2 nd of November (ALL SOULS); which is their day. Take advantage of this once-in-a-year opportunity and do some good for them and for yourself. Thank you! Father Innocent -3-

4 WINTER ESCAPE POSTERS ARE AVAILABLE: If you know of a proper place to put up a poster announcing our family friendly event on February 2, 2019, please take a poster or as many as you can properly display. Be sure to tell your friends, family, and coworkers about our exciting event!! MARRIAGE MOMENT: Rejoice in the Lord always the Lord is near. (Philippians 4:4-5) Sometimes pressure preparing for Christmas can blind us to what s really important. Start by remembering that Christ lives in your beloved. Pause. Take time to rejoice in each other today. PARENTING PERSPECTIVE: As your family prepares Christmas gifts for each other, this is a good time to discuss with your child how to share their older but still good toys, clothes, etc. with each other or to donate them for others who don t have any. Whoever has two cloaks should share with the person who has none. (Luke 3-11) RETIREMENT FUND FOR THE RELIGIOUS: This money is pure gift, writes a religious sister of the support made possible by the Retirement Fund for Religious. It enables us to continue providing care for our elderly sisters Your gift to last week s collection helps hundreds of religious communities meet pressing retirement needs while continuing to serve the People of God. Thank you for your generosity! GIVING TREE AND GARLAND: Here is some insight about our Christmas giving. Between the giving Tree in Pavilion and the Giving Garland in East Bethany we are providing for 14 families, including 23 children. Four families are from LeRoy and the rest are from Pavilion. Generally, we do not provide gifts to the same families each year, but rather we provide to families who have had medial issues or loss of a job or other difficulties. Each and every family has stated that they are very grateful for any assistance. One mother stated: Christmas will be a real struggle for us this year. Another mother said her family did not really have a Christmas last year so they are very appreciative of help this year. Thank you for giving so freely! May God s love be reflected onto others through you. If anyone wants to help with the Giving Tree or the giving Garland, please contact Sue Gould at , or Pat LaPoint at , or Mary Eisenhard at OFFICE COMPUTERS: It has come to our attention that the office computers are being shut off after use during non-office hours. The office staff is instructed to leave the computers turned on so that those who are authorized to remotely use them can access their information. If you have permission to use the office computers remember to leave them turned on when you are finished using them. Similarly; we spent $1, in repairs for the office copier. Please; do not use the copier if you do not know how to use it. Thank you for your cooperation. Fr. 5 FAITH MOMENT: Shout for joy! Sing joyfully! Rejoice! Be filled with expectation! The readings today are filled with joy. And they tell us that we should be, too. Because the Lord is near. For Christians, this is a season of happiness. But the scriptures are describing an unimaginable joy that surpasses our understanding. They tell us God sings joyfully because of us, His children. And He wants every one of us to share in that joy. In the life and example of Jesus Christ, He shows us how. We share in God's joy when we give to others, when we feed the hungry, visit the lonely, comfort the sick, and tend to those in need. God's joy, peace and love are not limited to one season. They are timeless and eternal gifts to be shared every day of our lives. Let s follow the example of Jesus and bring joy to the world. Today's Faith Moment was provided by Christ the King Seminary. What a great Christmas Gift/Stocking Stuffer these tickets would be for that hard to please person on your shopping list. Our evening will start at the Immaculate Conception Hall with a delicious Turkey Dinner at 5:30 pm. After dinner, at 6:30 pm, Red Creek Band will perform numerous numbers for your listening and/or dancing enjoyment. Along with great food and great music, we will have a Gift Basket raffle. This fun filled family event is not to be missed! Tickets are $10 for children 12 and under -- $20 for Adult tickets. Remember, tickets are limited so get yours early so you don t miss out!! Keep in mind that if you get a gift that doesn t suit you donate it to a gift basket to be regifted
