2 PROGRAM INFORMATION MISSION STATEMENT The purpose of GLOW is to provide every willing-hearted church member with the training and materials necessary to become a literature evangelist. Its overall vision sees the eventual activation of hundreds and thousands visiting families and opening before them the word of God. 9T 126 Many are to be prepared to walk from house to house, carrying the truth to the people Entering the homes to sell or give away literature, and in humility to teach them the truth. QUOTES OF OUR MISSION If there is one work more important than another, it is that of getting our publications before the public, thus leading them to search the Scriptures. CM pg. 7. Let every believer scatter broadcast tracts and leaflets and books containing the message for this time. CM pg. 21. The end is near. Already much time has been lost, when these books should have been in circulation. Sell them far and near. Scatter them like the leaves of autumn. This work is to continue without the forbiddings of anyone. CM pg. 25. More than one thousand will soon be converted in one day, most of whom will trace their first convictions to the reading of our publications. CM pg PROGRAM STRUCTURE 4 LEVELS GLOW has four levels which church members can choose to join in. If members so choose, they may advance in levels gaining opportunities for more growth and learning in Literature Evangelism. All levels include level 1 participation as they advance. o Level 1: Watchmen Non door-to-door Literature Distribution Watchmen make literature a lifestyle as they hand out literature like the leaves of autumn i.e. in grocery stores, at gas stations, in laundromats, hospitals and many other places. o Level 2: Overcomers Door-to-door Literature Distribution Overcomers learn how to effectively go door to door within a church team on Sabbaths in a specific territory while sharing free literature along with a quick survey for Bible study interests. o Level 3: Ambassadors Door-to-door Magabook Sales Ambassadors learn how to sell magabooks by leaving them on a donation basis with other church members and in pairs. o Level 4: Conquerors Door-to-door Big Book Sales In this advanced level, the highly qualified Conquerors learn how to sell hard cover Bible Stories & the Conflict of the Ages series door-to-door in specified territories.

3 PRODUCT LINE & PRICING For levels 1 and 2 literature is available through GLOW Literature Ministries at base prices negotiated with the Presses. For pricing on different amounts of literature, please contact Nelson Ernst, John Miller, or Jonathan or us at contact@goglow.org. Product line includes: o GLOW Pocket Signs of the Times o Happiness for Life (Steps to Christ) o Written in the Heart (Religious Liberty) o Paperback Magabooks CHURCH SUPPORT Pre-work with churches includes a meeting with the pastor and church board to establish workshop dates. One or more individuals must be committed to fulfill Literature Ministries Coordinator responsibilities to maintain the program. Church involvement entails one Sabbath Sermon/Testimony Time and Sabbath Afternoon Literature to be distributed by members participating in levels one and two is purchased by the church and discounted and subsidized prices. There is also an initial cost of equipment for GLOWers i.e. clip boards for surveys, small carrying packets for literature, and information folders. This cost is minimal. CONTINUED LEADERSHIP Conference-wide Literature Evangelism Conventions will be held throughout the year as a means of continued training, encouragement and inspiration. Each church will have a position for one or more Literature Ministries Coordinators and these leaders will give continued support, encouragement, to church members involved in GLOW. (See GLOW Lit. Min. Coordinator page) and literature replenishment. Conference GLOW coordinators, Nelson Ernst, John Miller, or Jonathan Sanchez will be available to these local coordinators for assistance and product line. A yearly retreat for all GLOW members is also scheduled as a reward/incentive for those participating in the program and meeting the goals specified for each level of participation.

4 LEVEL 1: WATCHMEN Literature Evangelism as a lifestyle So you, son of man: I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore you shall hear a word from My mouth and warn them for Me. Ezekiel 33:7 The time has come when a large work should be done by the canvassers. The world is asleep, and as watchmen they are to ring the warning bell to awake the sleepers to their danger. Testimonies, Volume 6, Pg JOB Description: Non door-to-door literature distribution, by means of: o Intentional Sharing in grocery lines, at auto shops, etc when you have had any connection with someone at all. o Gas Stations Leave literature on top of gas pumps, with cashiers, and in bathrooms. o Restaurants Leave your tip as a bookmark in a piece of literature. o Bill Payments send something small in the return envelope with your bills o Desk Holder place literature in a holder on your desk and give it to everyone you work with. o Newspaper Ad Put an add in penny saver offering a DVD, Books, or Bible studies for free o Laundromats Leave/restocking literature every 1 or 2 weeks on tables/in waiting areas.*1 o Hotel Rooms Use as Gideon Bible bookmarks or leave on beds for maids o Airplanes to your neighbors & in the seat pocket in front of you o Halloween Giveaways Have good supplies of literature for little kids who ring your bell o Literature Boxes Signs of the Times boxes*2 o Whole Hotel Distribution Speak to Manager*3 o Large gatherings (i.e. Promise Keepers, Greg Laurie, etc.) Take a group of friends to hand out literature as large gatherings are held in your area. o Office Waiting Rooms leave literature in any waiting room you visit. o Airports in waiting areas on tables or chairs o Other: Read as much of what you share as possible! Pray for literature distributed & people who received literature Replenish your materials (On Sabbath; from GLOW literature)*4

5 GOAL: To distribute three to four pieces of literature every day making a total of 100 pieces per month. *Additional Information on Distribution: 1. Simply walk into your local Laundromat and speak with the manager. Show them an appealing book or tract and a few Bible study interest cards, asking if you could leave some every week for people to take and read. Benefits for Manager: 1) Books help deal with stress 2) gives their customers something good to read 3) completely free 2. Level 3 s learn how to share literature and receive donations door-to-door. This is one thing they can purchase with those donations that can be re-stocked by Watchmen. 3. Speak with your local Hotel Manager. Say, We re working with the blue Bible Story Company, which you have probably seen in doctors and dentist offices. [Hand Manager Desire of Ages or Steps to Christ] This bestseller is a part of their adult series we are offering to Hotels in [Your City], to be put in every room. 4. Talk to Literature Ministries Coordinator for your church about where the literature packets will be.

6 LEVEL 2: OVERCOMERS Door to Door Literature Distribution Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. Join to form Sabbath-afternoon literature outreach team in your church in which: - You go out with your church s literature team on Sabbath afternoons at least once a month.*1 - You take bible study surveys at the homes you visit while handing out free literature or flyers for upcoming evangelistic series. Helping hand out literature at large gatherings with local Literature Ministries Coordinator. Pray for literature distributed & people in your neighborhoods Replenish your materials (Sabbath; from GLOW literature)*2 EQUIPMENT: GLOW Community Religious Survey and clipboard Literature to keep car and yourself stocked. (Pocket Signs, Steps to Christ, Bible Study Cards etc.) GOALS: To distribute three to four pieces of literature every day making a total of 100 pieces per month. To join to form a literature outreach team for your church and reserve at least one Sabbath afternoon a month to go out with your team. Additional Information: *1 If for some reason you are not able to go out for even one Sabbath on a given month, it can be added to a subsequent month in order to still maintain the amount of Sabbath outreach required to be a GLOW Overcomer. *2 Talk to your church Literature Ministries Coordinator about where you can go to get the literature packets to replenish with.

7 LEVEL 3: AMBASSADORS Door to Door Literature Sales Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ s behalf, be reconciled to God. 2 Corinthians 5:20 God has ordained the canvassing work as a means of presenting before the people the light contained in our books This is the very work the Lord would have His people do at this time We cannot too highly estimate this work; for were it not for the efforts of the canvasser, many would never hear the warning. 6T p. 313 JOB Description: Always carry literature with you in car and with yourself just like the Watchmen. Join to form Sabbath-afternoon literature outreach team in your church in which: - You go out with your church s literature team on Sabbath afternoons at least once a month. - You take bible study surveys at the homes you visit while handing out free literature or flyers for upcoming evangelistic series. Door-to-Door Sales of Truth-Filled Books with a canvassing team composed of Ambassadors from local churches. In order to do this you must: -Receive training from the local Literature Ministries Director*1 -Eventually reserve some Sundays to work with the church magabook team where you will receive training in the field from the Literature Ministries Director. Replenish your materials (Sabbath; from GLOW literature)*2 EQUIPMENT: Canvassing bag*3 Maga-books and receipt pad*4 Literature to keep car and yourself stocked. (Pocket Signs, Steps to Christ, Bible Study Cards etc) GOALS: To distribute three to four pieces of literature every day making a total of 100 pieces per month. To join to form a literature outreach team for your church and reserve at least one Sabbath afternoon a month to go out with your team. To receive training in magabook salesmanship and apply that training in the field with the magabook team on given Sundays.

9 LEVEL 4: CONQUERORS Door to Door Big Book Sales Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Romans 8:37 The larger books, Patriarchs and Prophets, The Great Controversy, and The Desire of Ages, should be sold everywhere. These books contain the truth for this time,--truth that is to be proclaimed in all parts of the world. Nothing is to hinder their sale. To join to form a literature outreach team for your church and reserve at least one Sabbath afternoon a month to go out with your team. Prove yourself proficient in magabook salesmanship (Refer to level #3 participation) Apply online to become a big booker

10 Additional Information: *1 Big books is requires a big commitment from those who choose to pursue this form of ministry that will affect many aspects of their lives because it concerns their income. In order to qualify applicants and help them get a feel for literature salesmanship the online application can be filled out to apply for big book training only after proficiency has been proven in magabook salesmanship. This is a prerequisite to becoming a big booker. Then the online application will be received by the local Conference Literature Ministries Director and go before a committee where it will be reviewed and a decision will be made. *2 Talk to your church Literature Ministries Coordinator about where you can go to get the literature packets to replenish with. *3, 4, 5 This equipment can be obtained through the local Conference Literature Ministries Director.

11 THE GLOW MINDSET How To Get Into the Habit of Distributing Literature 1. Choose one location in your house and in your car. This is the only place where you will place your literature. Make it a highly visible place i.e. on the countertop by the door you exit through every day, on a night stand, or in your car cup holder. 2. Make a plan to not exit your house or your car without first taking at least three or four pieces of literature with you every day in your pocket or somewhere on your person. This is very important that you keep it on you at all times. Ladies can put it into a purse, men into a shirt or pants pocket. It doesn t do any good if you want to give a piece of literature to someone in the store and you have it all in the car. If you need to help remind yourself, make a little sign for the first few weeks on the door you exit through reminding you to take the literature with you. 3. Pray during your devotional time for divine appointments. This not only helps you meet the right people at the right time with the right literature but it also helps get you into the mindset of incorporating it into your lifestyle. 4. If, by the end of the day, you haven t handed out your pieces to people themselves, you can place it somewhere where someone will pick it up when they see it. In the slot where the receipt prints out of the gas pump is one good example. What to say when handing literature to people There are many things you can say when handing literature to people. Here are four examples of my favorite lines when handing others literature and you can use them too. 1. Here s something for you to read. 2. Here is something to read when you are bored. 3. Here is my business card. (Remember we are in the business of saving souls) 4. Here s a gift for you!
