3 My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, How good is the Lord to all His creatures! We see His providential goodness manifested in so many ways. His blessings surround us daily and from His fullness we have all received, grace upon grace (Jn 1:16). That is why it is important to stop from time to time in order to take note of the many ways He has shown us how real He is, how completely He knows us, and how deeply He loves us. In assessing the past year of our parish, our natural response is gratitude. God cannot be outdone in generosity, and we can see how abundantly He has provided for us. Even trials and tribulations become His gifts, because by means of them, we can atone for our sins and those of others, bear them in union with our Savior, and thus draw closer to the One who has drawn mercifully close to us. Our gratitude to God must include an acknowledgment of the wonderful way He works through the various members of His body, the church, and particularly the members of this parish community. So many people have given of themselves as dedicated employees, as hardworking volunteers, and as eager participants in the many activities that make up our life as the people of God! I invite you to review the various documents provided in this annual report. See in them the fruit of our mutual efforts, aided by God s grace. From holding festivals to celebrating devotions, from caring for the needy to maintaining our facilities, from worshiping God to remembering our beloved deceased--in so many ways this parish has been a people that prays together, builds community together, and gives back together. As an addendum to the annual report, please find included on a separate sheet of paper a summary of the financial results of the 2018 parish festival. Once again, this fun and important fundraising event has got our parish off to a good start for our new fiscal year. Congratulations to all those who made it the great success that it was! As we rejoice in our successes, let us also take note of those areas that might call for improvement. Do not our hearts want to do more for God, more for Christ, more for His church? Finally, I encourage you to see in the report a pledge of a future full of grace because, as God has blessed us in this past year, surely He will continue to do so in the next and throughout all our days. I particularly want to thank Fr. Bill Hayward, MIC, for his steadfast leadership of this parish not only during the past year but over the last eight years. I also want to thank Fr. Allen Alexander, MIC, for his dutiful assistance. May the good Lord bless and reward them both in their new assignments! May the good works they began while they ministered among us now continue to grow and even thrive through our concerted efforts. As we work together as one body, the body of Christ, may we grow in grace and virtue. We have had a good year. Together let us advance into the next! Peace to you all! Fr. Michael Callea, MIC Administrator We, the people of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary of Pompeii Parish, are called to be an active parish community. As a welcoming community, we share together the Eucharist and are formed by the Word of God. As we draw ourselves closer to Him, we spiritually enrich each other, serve our parish family, and evangelize to the larger community through witness and service. Building on our cultural, immigrant heritage, we are supported by our rich Marian traditions. We form leaders for today and tomorrow by supporting the Kenosha religious and Catholic education programs, thus providing for all generations.

Our Holy Name Society works closely with these organizations to build community through these events and through sponsoring Lenten Fish Fry events and the Annual Holy Rosary Sports Night. With the help of the Archdiocese, the Stewardship Commission was formed in the fall of The mission statement of the commission is: Working closely with the pastoral council and other committees, the Stewardship Commission seeks to renew all aspects of the life of the parish by promoting the biblical concept of stewardship to ensure that each member, as well as the community as a whole, is truly praying together, building community together, and giving back together. In collaboration with our spiritual director Fr. Allen Alexander, MIC, the Commission was able to define its role in the parish and begin to work on projects that promote its mission. A couple of these projects include an update of the parish committee list and parish communication form. The Commission also brought back Donut Sunday with a twist. 6 We Give Back Together Transitions We bid farewell to Fr. William Hayward, MIC, and Fr. Allen Alexander, MIC, as they were both assigned to new duties. Parishioners came together and hosted a fond farewell and welcome for our priests. The newly formed Human Concerns Committee is focused on expanding our ability to share our gifts of time, talent and treasure with those in the community who are less fortunate or in need. They will welcome you and your suggestions on how they can grow and reach those in need by both giving assistance and witnessing to God and His Mercy. Human Concerns continues their efforts in helping the community by the following: Christmas Undecorate the Tree Thanksgiving and Spring Food Drives Corpus Christi Blood Drive United Way Day of Caring In addition to the Human Concerns Committee, many of our other fine parish organizations give back to Holy Rosary and the Kenosha community. These include our Building and Grounds Committee, Mission Ladies, Bereavement Ministry and others. These organizations are all part of our wonderful Holy Rosary Parish. Laura Burnett-Shoemaker presenting Fr. Bill with a commemorative plaque Fr. Allen and his mom Offsetting our goodbyes, were two special hellos. Parishioners must accept responsibility for their parishes and contribute generously -- both money and service --to their programs and projects. The success or failure of parish programs, the vitality of parish life or its absence, the ability or inability of a parish to render needed services to its members and the community depend upon all.
