CCD NEWS Catechetical Sunday is September 16th. All classes will resume that day. Registration must be completed by September 16th. Grades 10 and 11 must register. Last year s 10th graders are this year s 11th graders (Confirmation prep class ) The registration form is now available on line and also in the back of the church for grades 19. Grades 1 9 will register here. In person early registration for Grades 19 will be held after 9:15 Mass on Sunday, 9/9 in the church hall. You may bring your completed forms, with payment, to the rectory, weekdays between 10 & 3. ( Can You Help? Our Parish Finance Council is working to put together a Social/Fundraising Committee. This group will help to brainstorm and implement creative ways the parish can both build community as well as raise needed funds for the parish. SEPTEMBER 9, 2018 If you are a Eucharistic Minister and can spare an hour or two a month to bring Communion to one of our shutins please contact Trish McCarron, Pilgrimage to Medjugorje A pilgrimage to Medjugorje will leave onnovember 4and return on November 12, 2018.We will stay with the visionary Mirjana near Apparition Hill.Our Spiritual Directors will be Fr. Our assignment this year is gravy packets. 600 packets are needed. Please keep this in mind as you do your grocery shopping.

4 ST CHARLES CHURCH PITTSFIELD ST JOSEPH FESTIVAL OF SHARING ROOTS St. Joseph Festival of Sharing Roots will be held on Sunday,September 9th, 2018 from 12:00 Noon until 4:00 PM on the grounds of St. Joseph Parish at 414 North St., Pittsfield, MA. There will be amass starting at 11:30 AM, where we as a Parish Family and Community can move forward from the tragedy in a peaceful way and recognize the diversity and respecting all people and families working together, having fun, sharing customs, food and heritage for the glory of God and the USA. Admission and Kiddy Land are free. Crafts sales start at 9 AM. Booths and activities will start at noon. Entertainment will begin at 12:30 PM featuring local vocalists, dancers and musicians. The food booths will represent several international cuisines each serving their favorite specialty. Those represented are American, African, Brazilian, French, Irish, Italian, Lebanese and Polish. Activities in Kiddy Land will include a family fun event with face painting and games for every family member to participate and have fun with their child. We are offering a 50/50 raffle, food basket raffle, toy raffle and lottery ticket raffle. Bring your lawn chair for an afternoon of fun and enjoyment. UPCOMING BUS TRIP FROM ST. JOSEPH S CHURCH Day of Retreat at ENDERS ISLAND, MYSTIC, CT Tuesday, October 2nd. The bus leaves St. Joe s parking lot at7:30am, coffee reception upon arrival, talks, a wonderful hot lunch, Mass and talk, free time to roam the Island. We leave to return home between4 & 4:30PM. The program will start with Mass at 9:00 AM and be followed by a talk from the statue s custodian, Mr. William Sockey. 5 TWENTYTHIRD SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME SEPTEMBER 9, 2018 Beloved Parish of St. Charles Borromeo Parents, children, and teachers I want to thank all of you for the opportunity to have been a part of your faith family for the last 29 years. We traveled well together. We shared it all, over those years, and please know what a blessing all of you were in my life. But now it is time for me to turn the CCD program over to one of our own. Someone who was a child and young adult in our program of classesreceiving her sacraments here and celebrating her marriage here. She then returned as a young mother to teach and now to be the director of our CCD program. I ask God to bless her in her work for the faith filled parish of St. Charles Borromeo. I keep all of you in my heart and in my prayers. Say a little prayer for me as I move on now. God Bless Us All, Gwen Shaughnessy
