1 : (830) Like us on Facebook For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:11 S U E S C O R N E R When I was a child, believing in Santa, there was a certain magic that accompanied that belief. Wouldn t it be great if this person really existed? To just wish, ask, and voila, your hearts desire appears under your Christmas Tree and parents didn t have to fit the bill. Nonetheless, I am glad I have that feeling of magic in my memory. The Christmas I remember the most was when I received a Raggedy Ann Doll that was life size and strapped to my feet where I could dance with her. I loved her so much because my father would dance with me that way, letting me stand on his feet as we waltzed across the room. I know now that he picked her out for me because he knew how I loved that experience with him. How I miss him! I have friends who have the opportunity to play Santa and Mrs. Clause at a Christmas Venue, Elf Acres, in San Antonio. My husband and I attended the opening weekend and saw them in action. What a sight it was! One child, before entering Santa s Work Shop, told his mother that the real Santa couldn t be in there. Then he walked in and his eyes lit up like the lights in the venue. Mom, it is the real Santa! My friend who owns Elf Acres told me that when she saw them the little girl in her rose up and she was taken back to that time of magic in her life. I felt the same way and remembered that doll my dad gave me so long ago. I must say that knowing the TRUE meaning of Christmas does not leave me wishing.i know it is true! I know my Lord came and gave me the greatest gift of all. I am so very thankful for that along with my memories that are so cherished. It s not magic, it is love. Merry Christmas to you all and I pray you have discovered the true Spirit of Christmas and that your memories are sweet. 2 FAN CORNER TUESDAY BINGO GROUP HHAC s Tuesday s BINGO brings in quite a group of funloving friendly people. Steve Kerbow tries his best to be here each week, and take it from me, he keeps the BINGO caller on their toes. Steve, who has been attending for over 6 months, said that he came because there was no pressure to do anything but enjoy himself. I like the people and they like me Steve said. He also said what a wonderful place HHAC is in offering so much for our community. It is a great place and I wish more took advantage of it Mary Cutler has been coming since BINGO started at HHAC. She said that it was a great excuse to get out of the house and loves the people the prizes are great also. By the way our prizes are snack items. Lydia Moss has been here only 3 times and loves coming to BINGO because of the people, pleasant atmosphere, and walks away feeling happy. She also said how exciting it was to win and get a prize. Our sponsor, Veranda Assisted Living, supplies most of those great prizes along with bringing over at least 5 residents each week. The ladies say how much they love getting out and interacting with other people. They kind of like the HHAC s Director also. It gets our blood pumping when we think we are going to win and when we do win we love it one resident said. Mickey, who is the Activities Director for Veranda, calls BINGO for us when she can, and Sue, HHAC s Director fills in when needed. Nonetheless, we are in need of someone who would love to volunteer to call for us one or two Tuesday s out of the month. It only takes a little over an hour and half and it is great fun. For those who would be interested in volunteering give us a call or if you would like to join this crazy group and play, show up on Tuesday afternoon at 2:30. It s Free and Fun!
