1 LITURGICAL YEAR CCC1163 "Holy Mother Church believes that she should celebrate the saving work of her divine Spouse in a sacred commemoration on certain days throughout the course of the year. Once each week, on the day which she has called the Lord's Day, she keeps the memory of the Lord's resurrection. She also celebrates it once every year, together with his blessed Passion, at Easter, that most solemn of all feasts. In the course of the year, moreover, she unfolds the whole mystery of Christ.... Thus recalling the mysteries of the redemption, she opens up to the faithful the riches of her Lord's powers and merits, so that these are in some way made present in every age; the faithful lay hold of them and are filled with saving grace." 33

CCC 1131 "the sacraments are efficacious signs of grace, instituted by Christ and entrusted to the Church, by which divine life is dispensed to us. The visible rites by which the sacraments are celebrated signify and make present the graces proper to each sacrament. They bear fruit in those who receive them with the required dispositions."[12] CCC 1123 The purpose of the sacraments is to sanctify men, to build up the Body of Christ and, finally, to give worship to God. Because they are signs they also instruct. They not only presuppose faith, but by words and objects they also nourish, strengthen, and express it. That is why they are called 'sacraments of faith.'" 44 There are seven (7) Sacraments; all Biblically based and rich with tradition...

4 Seven Sacraments MISSION The grace we receive with these tho Sacraments makes us strong in order to serve God and one another CCC1534 MATRIMONY HOLY ORDERS signifies the union of Christ with the Church. 5 LITURGY? Liturgy is the customary public worship done by a specific religious group, according to its particular traditions (corresponding to ritual that requires the "people" to do the "work" of responding to the priest, (hence leitourgia = work of the people). Worship - to pay Homage to God that He rightly deserves... Worship asserts the reality of its object and defines its meaning by reference to it. Liturgies use signs, words, actions, gestures and symbols to celebrate Christ s Paschal Mystery of love and to communicate Gods life to us. These signs come from creation (bread and wine), human life (washing, anointing), the original covenant (anointing, laying of hands, Passover rituals) and Christ himself.

6 LITURGY OF THE WORD CCC 1154 The liturgy of the Word is an integral part of sacramental celebrations. To nourish the faith of believers, the signs which accompany the Word of God should be emphasized: the book of the Word (a lectionary or a book of the Gospels), its veneration (procession, incense, candles), the place of its proclamation (lectern or ambo), its audible and intelligible reading, the minister's homily which extends its proclamation, and the responses of the assembly (acclamations, meditation psalms, litanies, and profession of faith). CCC1155 The liturgical word and action are inseparable both insofar as they are signs and instruction and insofar as they accomplish what they signify. When the Holy Spirit awakens faith, he not only gives an understanding of the Word of God, but through the sacraments also makes present the "wonders" of God which it proclaims. The Spirit makes present and communicates the Father's work, fulfilled by the beloved Son.

(This creed was compiled by may great minds in 325AD at the council of Nicea and as perfected in 381 at Constantinople - empires almost went to war over this - people suffered and died truths - think about that) Intercessory Prayer (as a community we now pray for the whole Church) Collection / Bring up Gifts (rooted deeply in Jewish tradition of offering God your first fruits the best you have for the Eucharistic sacrifice; and as the body of Christ supporting our Church building and members financially) (Here we prepared our minds and hearts for the coming of Jesus by reading stories about Him. Starting with the Old Testament promises of a Savior, to remembering to Praise in the Ps then listened to instruction by the apostles of how to live a good Christian life and finish with the actual recorded words of Christ Himself in the Gospel. Then, after the Homily where the Priest/Deacon helps pull it all together/explain what we just heard, we Profess our Faith (Nicene Creed) as a community now more settled and united. Next, as a community - we Pray fo another (Intercessions) and give God our physical offerings of Bread and Wine for the Consecration and our Tithes to help support our priest/church building and community financially LITURGY OF THE EUCHARIST Preparation (The Lord be with you..)
