3 The West Surrey Installed Masters Lodge No.9902 Introduction by the Primus Master The Consecration of the West Surrey Installed Masters Lodge No.9902 at Croydon Masonic Centre on Tuesday May 19th will ensure that the western part of our Masonic Province is represented alongside the other Installed Masters Lodges in Surrey. Upon receiving the application to consecrate this new Lodge, our RW Provincial Grand Master, Eric Stuart-Bamford, requested the Provincial Grand Secretary to ascertain how many of the 53 petitioners of the proposed Lodge were already members of an Installed Masters Lodge. Only two of those Brethren in fact were already members of an Installed Masters Lodge. I was one of the two, and, as a proud member of the North Surrey Masters Lodge I hoped that we would be allowed to bring to Farnham in the West of our Province, the kind of Masonic learning which emanates from all Installed Masters Lodges in this Province of Surrey. My Founding Committee of W.Bro's Mike Barnes, Ian Goolding, Sid Goolding, Tony Truslove, Rob Walker, and Mick Barnes have from the beginning had a lot of fun and cemented our friendships in so many ways. I would advise all Brethren to be very wary of inviting our Treasurer to sit on one of your dining chairs. It could mean that the purchase of a new dining set is required. The West Surrey will innovate (obviously with the kind permission of Provincial Executive), it will educate, not only by the natural diffusion of knowledge in lectures and demonstrations but also by inclusivity not at the moment obvious in Farnham. In my choice of Officers for this Lodge I intentionally chose "younger" Installed Masters of the type that motivate and guide new Masons in a manner necessary in today's world. I must record here our heartfelt thanks to our RW Provincial Grand Master Eric Stuart-Bamford and our VW Deputy Provincial Grand Master Derek W. Barr MBE PGSwdB for their wisdom in supporting the formation of the West Surrey Masters Lodge and express the hope that they will visit us often in the future at Farnham. I have no doubt that in future years the West Surrey Installed Masters Lodge No.9902 will become a prominent seat of learning, of enjoyment and one of excellence in the Masonic Arts in the Province of Surrey. It will take its rightful place in our quest to raise and donate monies to help those in need, but I hope, most of all, it becomes the Lodge that ALL enjoy visiting. I thank all the Brethren who have travelled to join us today for the celebration of Consecration of this new Lodge and beg of all of you, please visit us again.
