Many people arrive home from work to find a furry friend overjoyed at their return. The bond between person and pet is like no other relationship, because the communication between fellow creatures is at its most basic. We invite you to take the opportunity to take your animal companions to church for a special blessing. We will celebrate the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi with our annual Blessing of Animals on: Sunday, 1 October at 5:30 p.m. ATTENTION PARENTS The final registration meeting for Confirmation is on Monday September 25 th at 7:00 p.m. Parents are reminded to bring their completed registration package with them to the meeting in order to register their child for this year s Confirmation preparation program. Registration packages are available for pick up from the parish office. Marriage and Holy Communion Due to the many misconceptions regarding the Catholic Church and marriage, please note that a Catholic may marry a non-catholic in the Catholic Church, without his or her conversion to the faith. In some instances, a person, who has been previously married, can also be married in the Catholic Church after consultation with the priest. If as a Catholic you re married outside of the Catholic Church without the permission of the Church, we respectfully ask that you refrain from receiving the Eucharist until your marriage has been validated ( sacramentalized ) by a Catholic priest or deacon. To remedy this situation, please call one of the priests to make an appointment to have your marriage validated. We are only too happy to bring back to the couple, the graces necessary to live out their marriage, and to reconcile them with the graces of the Eucharist. Children's Liturgy is the celebration of God's Word for children. At this young age, children in JK, SK & grade 1 learn the stories of how Jesus saved us by reflecting on the Sunday Gospel in language they can understand and through activities which relate the Gospel message to their daily lives. We begin our children's liturgy on the weekend of September 30 th & October 1st at the Saturday 5:00 p.m. Mass and the Sunday 10:15 a.m. Mass. BIBLE STUDY Our Fall programme begins on October 2 nd (evening) and October 4 th (morning), 2017 with the study of: Sacred Scripture and the Mysteries of the Rosary We invite all parishioners to participate in this life transforming Ministry and deepen our faith through community and study. CATHOLIC WOMENS LEAGUE The next General Meeting is Oct 4 at 7pm in the North Room. All ladies are welcome. There will be a CWL food drive on Thanksgiving weekend. Please remember our less fortunate families who are in need. Our food will go to "New Life Centre" in Durham. Please be generous. The CWL annual Bazaar and Bake Sale is Nov 18/19.
