1 July 15, TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME Christ the King Catholic Church St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church What s with all of the sitting, standing and kneeling? We call it Catholic Aerobics. It s how we stay fit. Just kidding! Each posture during Mass has function and meaning. When we sit, we are engaged in active listening, giving our attention to the readings, the homily and some of the prayers. We stand for a couple of reasonsto listen to the Gospel (we sit for the other Bible readings) and acknowledge that we are in the presence of Christ. We hear stories about Jesus and the words that He spoke and so we stand in honor of this. Sometimes our standing together shows our unity in prayer (like when we pray the Creed or the General Intercessions) as the Body of Christ. Kneeling is a penitential/ reverential posture. We acknowledge our sinfulness and need for God s healing, so we kneel in God s Presence (mostly while the prayers regarding the Eucharist are being prayed) asking for that healing. Sts. Registration forms have been distributed to all families currently enrolled in our Faith Formation programs. In addition, registration forms are also available in the turntable outside of the office at CTK or at each of the other parish offices. Don t miss the boat! BAPTISM INSTRUCTION Our triparish will be offering Baptism instruction on the 3rd Thurs. of every other month. We will alternate sites for each class. The next session will be held on July 19th, at 6:30pm at Christ the King. 4 SEPTEMBER FEST MEETING SCHEDULED There will be a September Fest meeting on Wed., July 18th at 7:00pm at the Parish Hall. All are welcome to attend! ROAD CLOSURE SCHEDULED Road construction is in full swing, and Fern St. is CLOSED until further notice. It will be a little tricky to make your way to our church/hall parking lot, so please check out the map in the entryway, or on our website, and follow the route, (in green) for the easiest way to get to the WEST entrance of the parking lot.
