Easter is the celebration of the work of salvation begun by God when He sent His Son as the Babe born in Bethlehem. Easter is the celebration that our sins are now forgiven. They were nailed to the cross with Jesus so that we would not have to pay the price for those sins. He died that we might be set free from sin and its power over us. Easter is the celebration of life. Our Savior, Jesus Christ, is alive. The tomb is empty. The grave could not hold him. He has defeated the power of the last enemy, death. And he has defeated that power over us as well. Because he lives, we shall live also. Easter is the celebration of our life, our eternal life, that Jesus has won for us. Easter is a celebration. It is a time for joy and thanks for all that God, our loving Father, has done for us through Jesus Christ. But it is also a time for us to stop and ask, What does the Lord ask me to do in response to His love and mercy and grace? I hope this Easter is a time of celebration for you. I hope it is also a time of rededication to the One who has saved you and set you free. He is risen! He is risen indeed! Hallelujah! Allan
