2 We gather in the near darkness like the women who went early the first day the of week to properly prepare the crucified dead body of their beloved Jesus. In a spirit of reverent mourning they could have had the experience of this song composed by Leonard Cohen in 1984 and adapted in 2008 by Kelley Mooney. Hallelujah v.1 A crown of thorns placed upon his head, He knew he would soon be dead. He said, Did you forget me, Father, did you? They nailed him to a wooden cross, Soon all the world would feel the loss of Christ the King before us! Hallelujah! v.2 He hung his head and prepared to die, Then lifted his face up to the sky, Said, I am coming home now, Father, to you. A reed which held his final sip, was gently lifted to his lips He drank his last and gave his soul to glory! v.3 The soldier who had used his sword, To pierce the body of our Lord Said Truly this is Jesus Christ our Savior. The women were terrified and bowed their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, Why do you look for the living among the dead? The menu is Egg Casserole, sliced fresh fruit, croissant rolls, muffins, orange juice, coffee; no set charge, just a donation basket in support of our Youth Ministry. Easter Sunday Resurrection Festival Holy Communion Service will be led at 9:00 AM by Songfest and 11:00 AM by the Organist. So come on over for Easter food for the body and soul!

7 DIRECTIONS: Saint John s is about 4 miles from here. Go east to Highway #1, turn Right and drive through Oceano. Go past Halcyon Rd. Turn left on Valley Rd. We are on the right side just past the power substation on the corner with Los Berros Rd Valley Rd. Arroyo Grande. EASTER EGG HUNT: At 10:30 AM bring all toddlers and children up to 11 years of age to the lawn area for the Easter egg hunt. This morning we thank Songfest for their musical leadership. We also thank Fred Tuggey for securing the State Ranger authorization as well as for bringing and setting up the generator. We also thank George Erickson and his crew for bringing the big ol rugged cross here, and then returning it to the garden at church!.
