The position reports to the Pastor. Primary duties include custodial cleaning of the Church and Hall interior and exterior; ground maintenance including snow removal for entrances and walks (including Casa Maria), watering lawns and beds, lawn mowing etc.; routine building and equipment maintenance; and serves as Chair of the Maintenance and Building and Grounds Committee. The position requires a high degree of confidentiality and dependability. Work schedule is flexible based on job needs. Please contact the parish office for more information. Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Parents Parents please join us for our parent gathering as we ponder the kingdom of God. You will see the lessons just as the children do! Palms Requested Please bring your palm fronds from last Palm Sunday and place them in the basket in the narthex. They will be burned to create the ash used for Ash Wednesday liturgies. The meaning of the sign demands that... [it] truly have the appearance of food (General Instruction for the Roman Missal, 320). In keeping with this directive, our parish uses freshly baked unleavened bread made only from wheat. Ash Wednesday Collection For over 40 years, Catholic Social Services has offered free services to those facing crisis pregnancy throughout our Diocese so they are not forced to face this decision alone or without adequate information. Our professional staff provides them with compassionate support and information, regardless of whether they choose to parent or place their child in a loving adoptive home. The annual collection taken on Ash Wednesday, March 5th, allows us to continue these and other valuable services to people of all faiths in western South Dakota, regardless of financial means.
