Faith Formation ~ Grades 4, 5, 6, 7 & 8: Students attend class on biweekly Mondays from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. according to a previously mailed schedule. Baptism Preparation Class (Pre-Jordan): Parents and sponsors are required to participate before the day of Baptism. If you did not receive yours or if you find a discrepancy in the total, please call the Parish Office and an adjustment will be made. Thanks to those who so generously support our Parish financially. COLLECTING PALM! If you have palm from the past and would like to dispose of them properly, you can drop them off at the entrances of the Church, and we will burn them. Traditionally, those ashes are used for Ash Wednesday, but the process is not an easy one. So we will burn ours at our Easter Vigil Service. HINDSIGHT God s presence is not discerned at the time when it is upon us, but afterwards, when we look back. Everyone is welcome. *** Reservation *** Fat Tuesday Mardi Gras Celebration Tuesday, February 13, 6 p.m. Name: Phone: Adults: Children: TIRELESS DISCIPLESHIP The stories we ve been hearing these weeks come from the very first chapter of Mark, and they show us the public ministry of Jesus in its infancy. Today s account shows some of the strain or adjustment of his new life of preaching the reign of God, healing the sick, and casting out demons. Notice that after sunset, when darkness ended the workday, people brought the sick and possessed to Jesus. The following day he rose before dawn to get away by himself to pray, but to no avail. Simon Peter and the others don t just look for him, they pursue him, filled with the fervor that his ministry has incited. With the selfsacrificing example he gave until the end of his earthly life, he tells his followers that this is his whole purpose. Through Mark, he is also telling the early church, and he is telling us, that this is our purpose, our vocation: to be tireless in our pursuit of proclaiming the Good News, and in bringing the healing, reconciling touch of Christ to the world. 5 **Diocesan and Community Events** PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT is one of the service areas for Lions Clubs worldwide. The Rostraver Lions Club has placed a recycling box in the elevator lobby. Plastic film-type items are being collected: Grocery Bags Bread Bags Case Overwrap Ice Bags Ziploc Bags Dry Cleaning Bags Produce Bags Bubble Wrap Newspaper Sleeves Wood Pellet Bags Salt Bags Cereal Bags Other Re-closable Bags Plastics are shipped monthly to TREX Corporation who turn them into plastic wood products. For every 500 pounds collected, a bench is received in return. Please help them keep this plastic out of our landfill and environment.
