What a gift to celebrate that God would live among us, sacrifice himself for our sins and feed us with his own body and blood so that we might share his life.

The readings remind us that blood suggests death and life vitality, health and vigor. Without blood, one perishes. In giving blood, one gives life.

2 CORPUS CHRISTI JUNE 3, 2018 FROM THE DESK OF... Father Kaluza Corpus Christi The Body and Blood of Christ The Eucharist is the Source and Summit of our Faith! This weekend we celebrate Corpus Christi the very body and blood of Christ that is shed on our behalf and we receive the life-giving presence of Christ! What a gift to celebrate that God would live among us, sacrifice himself for our sins and feed us with his own body and blood so that we might share his life. When we receive this awesome gift, we are reminded of God s unconditional love for us and that we have truly been incorporated into the family of God. The readings remind us that blood suggests death and life vitality, health and vigor. Without blood, one perishes. In giving blood, one gives life. The blood of Jesus is shed on the cross in expiation for our transgressions and from that blood the Church is born to nourish the world with the presence of Christ in the Eucharist! It is truly a treasure to safeguard! The Church continues the tradition of Jesus at the Last Supper of taking bread, blessing, breaking and sharing so that we might always remember what Jesus left us himself. He is always near and never far. The Eucharist nourishes us to keep us in communion with God and one another and fortifies us on our Christian pilgrimage through life. When we celebrate Mass or worship the Blessed Sacrament in adoration, we are reminded of the once and for all sacrifice on Calvary, the Institution of the Eucharist, the gift of Priesthood and of our status as sons and daughters of God. 5 Please welcome our new Music Director, Jennifer Kreuger! My name is Jennifer Krueger and I am honored to serve as your new Director of Music! I grew up in northwestern Minnesota, where I developed a devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and began playing organ for weekend masses at age 12. By high school, I was playing for multiple masses and choir rehearsals each week. My college education includes a B.A. in Music from the College of St. Benedict with concentrations in Liturgical Music, Piano, Organ, Voice, and Theology. Throughout college, I was employed by St. Ben's as a Student Campus Minister specializing in Liturgical Music and blessed with constant mentorship from the Sisters of the Order of St. Benedict. During and after college, I was employed as Music Director for St. John the Baptist Parish at the Abbey Church in Collegeville serving the non-monastic community surrounding St. John's University. For the past 21 years, I have been assisting my husband in his role as Music Director at St. Michael Catholic Church while raising our four sons. During these years, I have been serving the parish as a choir director, pianist, music coordinator, and an active supporter of our sons' Catholic school. Thank you for your joyous welcome!
