Simon Thomas Visitation Committee April 16-30: Kristine Wagner & Sophie Theodore Sunday Divine Services begin at 9:00am Nursery available at 10:00am Guidelines for Holy Communion The Orthodox Church understands the Eucharist the Lord s Supper to be primarily the paramount expression of Christian unity. The unfortunate reality of our modern day is that the various segments of Christendom are not unified with the historic Orthodox faith. While we fervently pray for this unity, as noted in every service of the Orthodox Church, we must offer a reminder that only baptized and chrismated Orthodox Christians may receive Holy Communion. All guests are invited to receive the blessed bread at the conclusion of our divine services.

Verse: Save me, O Lord, for the holy man has ceased. Brethren, when Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things that have come, then through the greater and more perfect tent (not made with hands, that is, not of this creation) he entered once for all into the Holy Place, taking not the blood of goats and calves but his own blood, thus securing an eternal redemption. For if the sprinkling of defiled persons with the blood of goats and bulls and with the ashes of a heifer sanctifies for the purification of the flesh, how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify your conscience from dead works to serve the living God. 7 Announcements Holy Land Pilgrimage 2019 The upcoming Holy Lands trip includes going to Nazareth, the Sea of Galilee, Capernaum, River Jordan, Mount Tabor, and the Holy Sepulcher! Space is limited! Single occupancy is $4,025 and Double occupancy is $3,270. A $500 deposit is due by May 10, 2019! Look for more information in the Narthex. Elpis Partnership with Loukoumi Foundation All are invited to make get-well cards for patients at St. Jude Hospital. Any words of encouragement or well-wishes are welcome. Donations will be collected to help support the reading room at St. Jude Children s Research Hospital. This helps support the education of children who miss long periods of school due to various medical treatments. Contact a Philoptochos member for more details! AGAPE Vespers Languages for Gospel Reading If you have knowledge of reading in a foreign language and are interesting in reading the Gospel Reading for AGAPE Vespers, please contact Father Simon. We will be able to assist in having the reading provided in the language you may need. Thank you.
