2 Third Sunday in Ordinary Time January 27, Diocesan Services Appeal The 2013 Diocesan Services Appeal will be held this weekend in our parish. The programs, services, and ministries supported by this appeal meet the larger diocesan needs of Catholics and others in the Diocese of Palm Beach. The diocese needs the financial support of each of us. This year s theme is Living Our Faith, Giving in Love. We have been truly blessed and this is an opportunity to share those blessings with those less fortunate. Our Parish Goal this year is $200,500. Next weekend we will take a Second Collection for the Diocesan Services Appeal. Carmelite Spirituality Workshop The Altar flowers this week are: In Loving Memory of Emile Chartier, Jr. by His Wife, Elizabeth. On March 23rd from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the St. Jude Pastoral Center, located at Toledo Road, Boca Raton, FL 33433, there will be a workshop that focuses on the spiritual life of St. Teresa of Avila and is designed for those interested in deepening their personal relationship with God. The workshop is presented by Fr. Jack Welch, O. Carm. The cost is $30, and includes lunch. Pro Life Being personally against abortion but favoring another s right to abortion is contradictory and baffling. It s like saying that we re personally against child abuse but we defend our neighbor s right to abuse his child if that is his choice. As a society we do not condone child abuse; then why do we condone the ultimate child abuse ~ abortion? Catechism Question 67. Why does the human race form a unity? 4 Pancake Breakfast February is fast approaching! Our board meeting will be on Wednesday, February 6th at 1:00 p.m. in the Conference Room. Next Sunday, February 3rd the Knights of Columbus have their Pancake Breakfast in the Parish Hall. They will be serving breakfast after the 7:30, 9:00 and 10:30 a.m. Masses. Hope you can stop by! Our Major fund raisers are almost here! Save the Date for the Bake/Bakeless Treasure Sale will be next weekend on February 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. The sale will be at every Mass that weekend except for the 5:30 p.m. Mass on Sunday. Baked goods and gently used treasures (no clothing please) may be brought to the parish hall on Friday, February 1st at 1:00 p.m. and before all the Masses the day of the sale. Monetary donations are greatly appreciated. This is always a fun day ~ so come browse, buy and enjoy! See page 7 of the bulletin for information regarding our Fashion Show and Luncheon. The Knights of Columbus will be at all of the Church doors on the weekends of Feb. 3, Feb. 10th and Feb. 17th selling the Raffle tickets for the Scholarship Fund for All Saints Catholic School. Rosary Service Held Every Month Catholic Charities Office of Respect Life conducts a Rosary Service the first Saturday of each month at 9:00 a.m. outside the Presidential Women s Center in West Palm Beach. 6 St. Jude Council of Catholic Women Presents Red, White and The Blues The St. Jude Council of Catholic Women will have their annual Fashion Show and Luncheon, on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at noon: Mass will be in the Chapel before the Fashion Show. The Fashion Show and Luncheon is at the Tequesta Country Club, 201 Country Club Drive, Tequesta. The fashions will be by: Harbor Clothing Boutique, located in Driftwood Plaza. 7 2013 NFP Course Schedule The Diocese of Palm Beach and The Couple to Couple League announce the Natural Family Planning courses listed below. Each course consists of three classes. The method taught (symptom-thermal) is a safe, healthy, effective and very low cost way of planning a family. It is 99% effective in avoiding pregnancy and can help low fertility couples achieve pregnancy. It is not the same as calendar rhythm. One course will be held at St. Paul of the Cross in North Palm Beach at 7:15 p.m. on Fridays on the following dates: 2/1, 3/1/ and 4/5. 9 Devotions to Our Blessed Mother Our Lady s Rosary Prayer Group ~ Our Blessed Mother has always asked us to pray the rosary to help us become closer to Jesus. Our families, church, country, and the world are in need of all the rosaries we can pray. Peace can only come through God and prayer. All are welcome to join us on Tuesday evenings from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the Chapel. We pray the Rosary and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. If you have a question, please call Mary at (Please enter through the doors on the south side of the chapel.) Please also note the Rosary is said after the 7:30 & 8:30 a.m. morning Masses in the Chapel. Marian Movement of Priests Cenacle Prayer Group meets on Friday mornings after the 7:30 a.m. Mass in the Chapel. We do hope that you will be able to join us. Devotion to Mary is always on the First Saturday of the month after the 8:30 a.m. Mass. Adoration Chapel The Most Blessed Sacrament is exposed every day in the Adoration Chapel from 9:00 a.m. in the morning until 9:00 p.m. in the evening. On the First Friday of the month, exposition is 7:00 a.m. through 7:00 a.m. the following morning, First Saturday.
