Rosary Service Held Every Month Catholic Charities Office of Respect Life conducts a Rosary Service the first Saturday of each month at 9:00 a.m. outside the Presidential Women s Center in West Palm Beach. 6 St. Jude Council of Catholic Women Presents Red, White and The Blues The St. Jude Council of Catholic Women will have their annual Fashion Show and Luncheon, on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at noon. The Fashion Show and Luncheon will be at the Tequesta Country Club, 201 Country Club Drive, Tequesta. The fashions will be by: Harbor Clothing Boutique, located in Driftwood Plaza. Barbarito, Bishop of Palm Beach, will preside at the celebration of our 29th Annual Anniversary Mass for Married Couples on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 10:30 a.m., at St. Helen Church in Vero Beach. Cake, coffee and punch will be served in the parish hall after the Mass. All couples who will be celebrating 25, 40, or 50 or more years of marriage in the year 2013 are invited to participate. 7 A Letter from Our Bishop Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, The annual collection in support of Catholic Schools will take place next weekend on January 19 and 20. The mission of Catholic schools is to form young Catholic Christians to become stronger in their faith and to be academically and spiritually equipped so they may become vibrant leaders in the Church. We are blessed in the Diocese of Palm Beach to have 21 Catholic schools and preschools with a multitude of dedicated educators who serve more than 6,000 students. Our Diocesan Office of Catholic Schools assists in finding well-qualified school leaders and aids in the professional growth of these leaders. It provides directions in areas of institutional and academic growth while ensuring safety, accreditation and certification. The academic curriculum at our schools is strong, and continues to grow stronger as programs are added, classroom practices become more innovative and new technology is implemented. All of this is to ensure that our schools are competitive and students are wellprepared for the future. Above all, providing a Catholic education includes teaching our faith and traditions to our children in their daily classrooms. Your generosity toward this collection in support of our Catholic schools will enhance our ability to provide resources for all students, including our needy students. 9 Devotions to Our Blessed Mother Our Lady s Rosary Prayer Group ~ Our Blessed Mother has always asked us to pray the rosary to help us become closer to Jesus. Our families, church, country, and the world are in need of all the rosaries we can pray. Peace can only come through God and prayer. All are welcome to join us on Tuesday evenings from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the Chapel. We pray the Rosary and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. If you have a question, please call Mary at (Please enter through the doors on the south side of the chapel.) Please also note the Rosary is said after the 7:30 & 8:30 a.m. morning Masses in the Chapel. Marian Movement of Priests Cenacle Prayer Group meets on Friday mornings after the 7:30 a.m. Mass in the Chapel. We do hope that you will be able to join us. Devotion to Mary is always on the First Saturday of the month after the 8:30 a.m. Mass. Adoration Chapel The Most Blessed Sacrament is exposed every day in the Adoration Chapel from 9:00 a.m. in the morning until 9:00 p.m. in the evening. On the First Friday of the month, exposition is 7:00 a.m. through 7:00 a.m. the following morning, First Saturday. If you wish to participate in the opportunity to spend time in silent prayer before the Lord and bring many blessings to yourself, your family and our parish, please come to the Parish Office for further information. Men in Fellowship & Prayer Attention: Men of the Parish ages 18 and over are welcome to an hour of Men s Fellowship, Prayer & Scripture Reading every other Saturday morning. We will meet next Saturday, January 12th at 7:15 to 8:15 a.m. (8:30 a.m. Mass is optional). We meet in Classroom #8 in the St. Jude Parish Hall. (Please use the doors at the end of the hallway near the rear parking lot.) Where one alone would be overcome, two will put up resistance: and a threefold cord is not quickly broken. You are to be radiant lights as you stand beside Christ, the great light, bathed in the glory of him who is the light of heaven. You are to enjoy more and more the pure and dazzling light of the Trinity, as now you have received ~ though not in its fullness ~ a ray of its splendor, proceeding from the one God, in Christ Jesus our Lord, to whom be glory and power for ever and ever.
