6 Saint Andrew s here and now Notices: Traidcraft Stall Today Please visit the Traidcraft stall in the foyer today. You can find many great products that are ethically sourced and environmentally responsible! All are welcome to Evening Prayer Evening Prayer is said every weekday at 5.30pm in the choir stalls, and normally finishes a few minutes before 6pm. Do consider coming when you can it is a wonderful opportunity to pray together. Why not plan a time to come with family, a friend, or as a house group during Lent? Unfamiliar with evening prayer? The leader guides those in attendance so it is very easy to navigate. Interested in helping to lead evening prayer? Wonderful! Simply let the leader know or contact Karen in the office (e:office.stasstas@gmail.com). Young Church Update There will be a slight change to the location and number of Pew Bags. A smaller number of bags will be located behind the last pew on the right side of the sanctuary, closer to the porch. It is preferred that the Pew Bags be used by children in the pews and not in the back open area of the church to prevent items from getting mixed up and misplaced. The Boulders have been working on a special project for Lent that ties into the Lenten sermon series and involves the whole church. Stay tuned. During the First Sunday services the Boulders will be sitting together in designated pews at the front right side of the church. Look for their brightly decorated signs. Youth Group at Katie and Joel s home will continue the last Friday evening of the month from 7:00-8:30pm. We are in need of another volunteer in the Pebbles (crèche). If you are willing to be on a monthly rota (and aren t already serving in Young Church) or know of someone who would, please let Jessica know (e: lang.jessica99@gmail.com). Upcoming events Saturday 30th March 10am: Tying of the daffodil bunches for Mothering Sunday, a few volunteers needed Sunday 14th April 9:45am: Young Church leads Palm Procession from outside the Baptist Church on South St to the church Maundy Thursday and Good Friday 18th-19th April: 24 Hour Prayer Vigil, including several activities especially geared toward children. Easter Sunday 21st April: Easter egg hunt after the service bring a basket!

7 Become a member and support the Community Hub Reminder! One way you can show support for the Community Hub and Café is to sign up as a member. It is very accessible only a 1 to join and you will have the opportunity to be involved in decision making by voting at the AGM, etc. Membership forms are available at the back of Church. Please consider completing one, and return it to Jill Anderson next Sunday 17th March or to the Café on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday between 9am and 4pm. East Fife Male Voice Choir St Athernase Church of Scotland in Leuchars will present the East Fife Male Voice Choir Saturday 23rd March at 6.30pm for 7pm. The repertoire will include popular songs from the 20th century, well known classical and sacred pieces, songs from Les Miserables, and audience participation in a medley of songs from WWI. Entry is 7.50 and payable at the door. Refreshments, including home baking, will be available at the interval. Quiet Service in Lent You are invited to a Quiet Service in Lent in the church on Tuesday 26th March at 7pm for 7.30pm. The service will include reflection and prayer with illustrations, music and readings. Refreshments will be served in the hall from 7pm and the service will begin at 7.30pm. Prayer Vigil A 24-hour Prayer Vigil will be held from 6pm on Maundy Thursday 18th April until 7pm on Good Friday 19th April. Please watch and listen for more details. Long swaths of fabric needed Please contact Karen in the office (t: , e: office.stasstas@gmail.com) if you have long swaths of light, solid-coloured and neutral fabric you can offer for use during Holy Week. Sheets will work as well. No prints, please. Thank you! Accommodation in exchange for help with school children A single-parent father in Broughty Ferry is seeking help to take children to and from school in exchange for free accommodation, food and possible use of car. So we re on a steep learning curve, and all at different stages on the way. We are a church with an open door where every-one is welcome. We make absolutely no apologies for our commitment to Jesus, but nor do we expect you necessarily to share that commitment or to bear its costs. You are welcome among us as a believer, a sceptic, someone unsure of what exactly they believe, or someone simply seeking sanctuary and solace from the unpredictable ups and downs of life, its hurts and disillusionments. Wherever you re coming from, you ll rapidly discover that there s no normal here.
