Our church motto is: Love One Another. Thank you everyone! In Christian love, Ken and Marylou Ferris. INVITE A FRIEND IN AUGUST We invite people into our homes for celebrations and holidays. We invite our friends to join us for dinner. We invite our friends to attend a concert or other activities. And yet, we often overlook the opportunity to invite our friends and neighbors to attend church with us. During the month of August, you are encouraged to help open the door to our church by inviting a friend to worship with us. Starting with the first Sunday on August 6 th each of you is challenged to invite at least one friend, neighbor or family member to attend church with us. It is especially important to invite someone who is not currently attending a church. Most people are looking for community and a place to grow in their faith, but they often have a difficult time walking through the doors of a church for the first time. All of us at FPCPC can help lessen that initial uneasiness by participating in Invite a Friend to church emphasis. We hope everyone will invite at least one friend during the month of August. We will have a special packet for the newcomer. Additionally, we extend a special invitation for our guests to join us for fellowship in the New Life Center at 9 a.m. before the worship service or 11 a.m. after worship.

10 HOME ALONE GROUP Monday, August 21 st 11:00 a.m. Florida SouthWestern State College Everyone is invited to join us to enjoy a solar eclipse experience from 1:18 p.m. 4:14 p.m. on Monday, August 21 st at the James & Barbara Moore Observatory located on the Florida SouthWestern State College located at Airport Road, Punta Gorda. The viewing is free and open to the public. Peak time will be at 83.3% coverage at 2:50 p.m. Meet in the church parking lot at 11:00 a.m. to carpool. FINANCE COMMITTEE Tuesday, August 22 nd 11:00 a.m. Conference Room There will be a finance committee meeting Tuesday, August 22 nd at 11:00 a.m. in the conference room. CHILDREN AND YOUTH ACTIVITIES Tuesday, August 22nd 4:45 p.m. Snack Time 5:00-6:00 p.m. Activity Time New Life Center & Music Suite Children and youth in 3rd grade and above are invited to join us Tuesday evenings for fellowship and fun. We will begin by spending time together around the snack table. After that the activities will begin!! Our summer Drum Circle will return, and we will also rotate activities such as Baking, Arts & Crafts, Service Projects, and Games. CHOIR Wednesdays 7:00 p.m. Choir will return for rehearsal on Wednesday, August 23 rd at 7:00 p.m. in the Music Suite. We will start singing at services beginning September 3 rd. We are always looking for new voices to join us. We sing well known pieces as well as new ones.
