Andy and Kim are gone, we are blessed to have Fr. John Cox with us on Sunday mornings. Fr. John has been in pastoral ministry in Orlando since Since 2002 he has been the pastor of The Porch, an urban mission community in Orlando. Originally ordained as a priest in the CEC, Fr. John joined AMIA in Oct Fr. John and his wife, Cathy, have homeschooled their two children, Jaunel and Isaac. He has also been in private practice as a pastoral counselor specializing in family and addiction issues since He is a Florida state Certified Addictions Professional and has served as a regional and national consultant in faith-based ministry in the addictions field. Fr. John earned his B. A. in Philosophy from Houghton College, NY. He earned his Master of Arts in Religion from Westminster Theological Seminary, Philadelphia, PA. 3 May 29 th was a fun day for the youth of our parish. We had 13 youngsters here (10 from TSRC and three friends) washing cars and having a great time. Thank you to Ryan Plummer for his leadership. 5 Colin Richardson, who pitched for the Winter Haven Blue Devils this past spring, was drafted by the Chicago Cubs during the second day of the MLB Draft. Richardson was picked in the 14th round.tuesday, May, 04, Colin is the grandson of our church secretary, Wilma Richardson. Don t you know Grandma is proud of that child! TSRC proudly acknowledges this accomplishment and sends congratulations to the Richardson family. 6 Adult Christian Education Deacon Joe has been leading a course of study from Focus on the Family entitled The Death & Resurrection of the Messiah which consists of 10 Faith Lessons. Teacher and historian Ray Vander Laan brings together history, culture, and geography to illuminate the Gospels. This series focuses on the last week of Jesus life, His death and resurrection, and the Holy Spirit s visit on Pentecost. 7 Join the group on Wednesday evenings for SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT class. This is an indepth Bible study led by Fr. Andy a small group like none you ve ever been in. If you have a desire to better understand God s word, please take advantage of this wonderful study group. 7:00 p.m., Wednesday evenings, in the office building. *** hree sons left home, went out on their own and prospered. They discussed the gifts they were able to give their elderly mother. The first said: "I built a big house for our mother." The second said: "I sent her a Mercedes with a driver." The third said: "You remember how our mother enjoys reading the Bible. Now she can't see very well. So I sent her a remarkable parrot that recites the entire Bible. It took elders in the church 12 years to teach him. Mama just has to name the chapter and verse and the parrot recites it." Soon thereafter, their mother sent out her letters of thanks. "Milton," she said, "the house you built is so huge. I live only in one room, but I have to clean the whole house. "Gerald," she said, "I am too old to travel. I stay most of the time at home so I rarely use the Mercedes. And that driver is so rude! He's a pain!" "But Donald," she said, "the little chicken you sent was delicious!"
